Everything was going so well on my Sonic drive-thru shop....

In another thread I recently commented that my Sonic takes a minimum of ten minutes to get food out. Tonight, it was less than 5. Believe me, this was a first. I leave the drive thru and pull over to the shopping center across the road, so I can snap the food photos. I pull the food out of the bag and I notice a ton of ketchup packets in the bag. "Wow," I thought, "They are on it today!" After the photoshoot I took a bite of my entrée and side item to get a taste and the temperature. They were both very good. I put the food back in the bag and headed home. When I get home, I pull the food out. Then, I grab the ketchup packets. I immediately felt something sticky in the palm of my hand. I put the packets on the counter, and they were covered in what I HOPE was syrup. Syrup was everywhere, including all over my hand and the napkins in the bag. Wonderful, simply wonderful. And it was going so well...

As I say about Sonic: "It's always *something*."

Did you lose your appetite after discovering the syrupy mess, or did you finish the noms?

If your path dictates you walk through hell, do it as though you own the place. -unknown

Oh, I ate. The food wasn't syrupy, which was good. LOL. I had ketchup at home. I had high hopes for them today. I assume whoever placed the ketchup in the bag was wearing gloves (another plus) and they didn't realize their ketchup packets had syrup all over them. If that's the case, I suppose the person behind me had some syrup on their food. smiling smiley
That was probably the ketchup itself that had leaked from one or more of the packets. It gets real sticky like that. Yeah it's got a lot of sugar. Sometimes in restaurants we would wash the whole batch when that happened but if you don't find the one or more that was leaking, it doesn't really work out too well.
I used to find and report sticky ketchup packets at 5G's condiment bar, at stores that did not have the large ketchup dispenser. All the stores in my area now have the dispensers.
