USPS Application Denied

I tried to apply for USPS mystery shops and I kept getting a box that says: “Denied. Either because you don’t meet the criteria or we reached our limit for the assigned shops for now”. Has anyone else ever got this message? I have a good rating, so I think I meet the criteria and I have done many of these shops. Why list the shops if they don’t need to be completed?

I've never seen that before. That's odd. Have you passed the test prior?

Yes. I passed the test. I emailed the main address but, as usual, it takes days for them to reply.

I had that message and emailed the scheduler regarding the shop and asked her to schedule it. In her reply she stated they no longer needed that location shopped. I have no idea why they are still showing on the shop board. It's only for the hazmat shops in my case.

Its happening to me on the hazmat as well. I guess that’s probably the reason then. Thanks for letting me know.

Is the hazmat shop paying $6 more than the regular box shop worth the extra $ since there are extra questions and interactions.

"Worth" depends on the person and their circumstances at that particular time. Right now I have food on the table, so no it isn't. But, even if I did not have food on the table, there is a lot that can go wrong on these shops and your shop is rejected. Plus, the reimbursement does not cover what you will spend to ship, if you end up being allowed to ship.

There are no "extra" interactions.

They have cut way back on the number of shops that they do. In my market there is one location that seems to be done multiple times a month. Other locations only seem to come up once per quarter. I think the post office is cutting way back on their expenses for this program and are limiting the number of shops done per quarter or month now so perhaps at some point they reach the limit and then stop assigning.

I don't care what hazmat shops pay. I tried them, I tried keeping track of all the changes in the rules from one round to the next. I decided it was too much work. I do reg box shops after they bring the pay up to a respectable level.

I don't mind doing the lap top battery ones. They almost always won't ship it Priority and you don't have to send it, so you get a few stamps plus an easy report. Sometimes if I need to send my son and his wife a package, I'll do the others and hope they offer Ground..sometimes it goes..sometimes I get stamps.

The confusion over the requirements is akin to my disdain for the visa debit card multiple purchase ones that I won't touch, while others do tons of them.

Because the Client has been mentioned, no one can give you the link to the MSC without violating the Forum rules that don't allow us to mention both in the same thread. Keep reading and you will eventually know who the MSC is.

Oh ok thank you! I know who the company is - I just can’t seem to find the branch that does the USPS. They have some many off shoots. ????

This shop is at a msc that you should not have much trouble finding. You might need to look for shops you cannot find in the early part of the month when they are still available. Many shops are already taken by this time of the month.

I know the company. I just have never seen the USPS shops on the Sassie side. Maybe they are on Shopmetrics? I just discovered yesterday the company has a division for doing surveys, so I thought maybe the Postal shops were were part of a different division than regular mystery shopping.

Shopmetrics. Expand your search radius to 100 miles and I bet you'll see some. And if you don't, try again in a few days when next quarter's shops should be posted. These shops are easy and helpful if you have something you actually need to ship. Just be aware that the reimbursement rarely covers the actual shipping costs anymore since there were significant rate increases, but the MSC didn't increase reimbursement to match. And read the guidelines, there are several nuanced details to be aware of!

Between the reimbursement and payment I have yet to pay out of pocket to send care packages to family members in zones 5-8. I also only go to select Post Offices so I don't have to factor in travel expenses.

Agreed I have had this happen for sure. But then later I try and it works. It's just they have a quota to make in each time period etc. but agreed the hazmat are a pain in the butt! If it's this one grocery store around me, they usually don't answer the question so I can often ship... but if it's at the real location I think these are junk bc u just get $2 of stamps when they ask the hazmat question ( depending on which scenario. ) either way not my fav but I will usually will do them and send packages to friends that are on either coast. Reimbursement needs to go up since postage went to!!

Have they discontinued USPS shops? I only see a few of them on the board and I am unable to self-assign like I used to do. It says application has been submitted.

Remember, it is the end of the quarter. They are calculating where/what shops still need to be done and some posted shops are no longer applicable to their necessary quotas/distribution.

Makes sense but why there are no Q3 shops posted?

The USPS shops have been discontinued as per the scheduler who said she has no further info.

Another MSC just announced on Facebook that they took the USPS project over and that they will be posting locations by the end of April. They aren't anyone's favorite and they pay really low, so lets hope they just leave the shops basically the same. But the good news is they are coming back!

Give a hint about this other MSC.

one of the few times I ALMOST wish I followed all of these MSCs on Faciebutts. But in the process of looking for this info on Faciebutts, I found a mystery shopping group run entirely by the most problematic schedulers we know. It's a private group, so I can't see what they are talking about. But I'm going to join under a pseudonym, I need to see how much they actually hate us.

It’s the company who used to have them but it’s on this secret platform that has a bunch of companies jobs on it.

If you join the Facebook group “mystery shopping/secret shopping -shopper, scheduler & editor connect!” You will see the post about the shop.
