Station rebranding

I've seen a few sinclairs in my town rebranded to a different station. Is this happening across the board, maybe just seems like a lot to me because I've not seen it before. It bums be out because I shop Sinclair a lot, and the other one has very few shops. boo.

Over time you will see stations rebrand... It's always a shifting thing.

yea, it's a thing. There are several P66 stations near me that are changing to Exxon. There is a Marathon station that I did a P66 debrand several years ago that sat with no branding for several years before becoming a Marathon station. In fact, when I did the Marathon shop a few weeks ago I was sure that the owner was going to toss me out on his ear like he did when I did the debrand shop several years ago.

There was an old post that I cannot find where a forum member explained that these rebranding/debranding events usually happen in geographic blocks, decided on by the individual corporations. It was insightful but I can't remember exactly what was written.
