Have you done this alcohol delivery shop?

I saw this alcohol delivery shop. They want you to order up to $20 using this app. When the delivery person arrives with your order, you're not to answer the door, , do not open your door, do not accept the delivery. Do not answer any mobile text. If you accept the delivery, you will not be paid.

What is the purpose of this shop? I see it as a waste of time for the delivery person. They count on tips. Wouldn't this also mark your house, anytime you use this app?

But with this shop, you're not even answering the door.
I don't know if it marks your house, but I've done it once. The test is to see if the delivery driver leaves the alcohol at your door or not. They're supposed to be take it back to the retailer to return the order. I think they get a minimal amount to compensate. It is a time waster for the driver. I felt bad and never did another one. You don't even get alcohol out of it.

Exactly, they are supposed to take it back if they can't get an ID. I refuse to do these, it's just mean

I agree. It waste the driver's time.
I do not know about this job specifically but my daughter drove for door dash. The tips were applied when the person ordered. She never had anyone turn down an order or not be home but had that happened they had prepaid for it and the tip. I would imagine it is possible that with that setup the driver would still get their tip and pay and hopefully the msc arranges to delete that order from your personal acct once the mystery shop is over.
I have several mystery shops where they do that. My order or inquiry is erased from the system after I finish hte shop. It does not hurt to check with the msc doing these jobs to ask whether this delivery is erased off your personal account. And from there you need to trust they do so if they say they will. Otherwise do not do the job. quote=johnb974]

I avoid shops where negativity is built into the shop's design. It's a waste of the driver's time, a waste of time of whoever packed the order, might lead to black-balling your address for future business. Unless the MS company is explicit about how they protect everyone, it's a 10-foot pole.
Every month they list a couple of drug stores near me which won't allow you to order beer for delivery.

Yet every month there they are.

I have a friend who owns a liquor store which does Door Dash and delivery of liquor. It is a MAJOR issue if a delivery person leaves the alcohol at the door when no one is home and no one answers. It creates a great deal of anxiety and problems for the delivery person who often makes multiple calls to the store owner asking what to do in a panic. One delivery person actually quit when they had a few of no show customers- major issue! The store owner is at a loss as to what to do. It is a total disaster for the drivers and the store owners. I would never take such a shop- almost feels deceitful to me to place an order and then not accept it. Hard pass on these shops

I did the expired ID alcohol delivery shop. The driver scanned her own drivers license and handed me the alcohol. I don't think she was supposed to do that.
