Best Buy & Ty Audits

I tried searching for past posts on this, but the search function isn't working for me so my apologies if this has been asked time and time again.

I'm intrigued by the BestBuy Insta shops I see and wondered if they're worth the payout? Do they take a long time like 4-5 hours?

Also, for the Ty beanie baby ones, I'm confused by the way they're named with biweekly and monthly. Are those worth the money involved and do you not get paid until you do a second task after the first?

Yes, the best buy audits are supposed to take 4 - 5 hours, but the first few won't go that smoothly. I only did one Ty shop, for $40. There is a lot involved, even on the simplest shops, that much work requires a lot more than $10 pay for me to be interested. And there will never be routes of $40 each Ty resets.

The last round of Ty paid up to $85 for the hard to fill locations. Some locations were very quick, because they did not have any backstock to place.

I did the Best Buy in the past. I agree 4-6 hrs once you get it down. I used to live across the street from one so did it a half dozen times. The TY merchandising is my main side gig right now. I have a route of 80 locations. The monthly visits are locations that are visited only one time per month. It has something to do with their contract with TY I suppose. Typically these are Circle K or Michaels. Bi-weekly means the location is visited twice per month. If you start doing these successfully the company will offer you a route and you will need to commit to both V1 and V2 for the month. It’s my third month with a route. I visit 10-15 locations per day. It has bumps here and there but for me … it is easy because it’s the same thing over and over.

For TY it depends on the stores you have. I have 18 stores, more than half are 7-11s. They rarely have any stock to put out. Those locations take me 15 minutes. But, on occasion, they do get stock and their staff often just throws it on the display and then i have to fix it. Can take awhile longer.

The larger drug store chains are more time consuming because there can be multiple displays and backstock. Those stores tske a bit longer. I have a nice mix of stores and now that I have been doing the same ones, i know how to plan. I csn knock out 4 locations in an hour because they are easy and close together. But there are others i know to plan for more time.

This has been consistent income and they are not hard to do at all.

I've never performed the Best Buy audits, but do the TY babies. Out of all the locations I have, there are only two that takes a lot of time. These two are like someone goes in, flips the display over, then throw everything back on the display every time I go in. I seldomly have stores without back stock. My locations have box(es) full of back stock that takes the most time to count. It all balances out because you have some you get out quickly and some that takes a bit of time.

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.

I don't do the Best Buy so I can't give feedback on that.

The ty "monthly" and "biweekly" visits are for how often that store is visited.

For example, a Casey's gas station might have a merchandiser go visit one time per month.
A different store, like Walgreens or CVS might have someone visit two times per month. You can do the first visit, the second visit, or both.

These aren't really audits either. They're merchandising projects and the time invested can vary widely for different reasons - some stores, it might take a while to hunt down the manager. Another store might have 2 or 3 displays that have to be re-stocked. Some stores might have a lot of inventory to count.

They start out at $10, then creep up $3. I did an out of the way location because it was $75. The CVS can take a long time due to multiple displays all over the store, so I am opting out of that unless it is heavily bonused. The 7/11 and Extra Mile can be a nightmare if not only Ty but other brands are haphazardly thrown in the display.

My fees range from 12 to 22 depending on the store. Stores with multiple displays should always be more! They did not want to negotiate early on with the multiple display stores but they eventually caved in a bit.

I have also picked up bonused stores at higher fees. However, they did send out an email saying that the big bonuses will be not as often because I guess they are tight with their budget. Most of the stores near me are all scheduled as part of routes. I know there are at least 2 other people in my area that have a route of stores. Only a few straggler stores remain here and there.

I’m very curious to know how to get signed up with a route of my own, as I prefer to do the same types of shops or merchandising gigs over and over. The question I have is, when these locations appear in the map every month, how can you even tell if any of the them are already on someone’s route? I’d hate to step on anyone’s toes.

If someone has a regular route, they normally don't post the locations, they will email that person directly, so I don't think you'll step on someone's toes. I would just try and hold out for higher fees than the base pay.

I have a route, those locations don't show up on the job board at all. The MSC emails me my list at the end of the month to verify that I want to do it again. On occasion I told them to take a location off my list because maybe it was too far away. So whatever you see on the job board is up for grabs. You can email one of the schedulers there to ask for a route. They will be happy to help. If you want to send me a message with your state, I can look up who the scheduler is for you.

The stores around here are paying $150 and there’s one in Wyoming listed for $350. It could take you 8 hours so it depends on how much you want per hour.

Eight hours is a lot different than 4-5 hours, which means I can do no other shops that day. I agreed to a training session, so I guess I will decide after the training whether I can do it.

depends on how much you want to make. The first one will take the longest, and then it gets easier. You'd make at least $25-30 per hour, so it may be worth it! I live in an area without many shoppers so ours usually bonus up.
