Alias for Mystery Shopping

In another thread, reading about disguises, I was curious if anyone often used a go-to alias for shops such as in-person inquiries, when the guidelines state you don't have to use your personal information. Any tips?

I remember reading another post that I thought was helpful. Where on some of these shops, you could say something uninteresting as your occupation, where the other person would lose interest quick, thereby making the conversation go by faster without much follow-up questions.

Also, I've been meaning to create a separate email for mystery shopping, where I made the mistake last summer of signing up with a lot of MSCs with my personal email address. I'm starting to get an early jump on spring cleaning!

I usually use my real first name, so I don't accidentally slip up on that. Once I was planning to use a different first name. When they asked my name, I said my real first name, and then blurted out the first name I had planned to use. The salesperson said, "You have two first names?" I looked at him like I was insulted a little, and he dropped it.
I definitely have a separate email address for my mystery shopping. I also have a google voice number as well.

I've done the same thing!
I'm not a good enough liar to do something under an alias. I only answer to 3 names, my first name, MOM, and a childhood nickname that will get whoever uses it punched in the face.
I use my unmarried name sometimes. I have used my middle name on an apartment shop where I lived in a community from the same company.
Thanks! I'm going to think of a name that I can easily recall. I'll think of it as like a pen name.

Beat me to it. Could also be Kell Varnsen, Dr. Van Nostrand, or H.E. Pennypacker, wealthy industrialist, philanthropist, bicyclist.

I use the name of a former high school classmate. It's a reasonably common-sounding name so I don't think it's likely to cause him any trouble, wherever he is.

I have a whole shopper profile with an email address and telephone number for that name. My spouse thinks it is hilarious when we are together, and I use it. They also have a different name if it is needed. When not required, you don't need to know who I am.
I'm a video new home shopper and have over 50+ aliases and 30+ email accounts.

Do you enjoy being punched in the face? I'll be more than happy to oblige.
I try to stay as close to my real name so I won't forget.

I usually use my middle name an a shortened version of my last name, which is actually a real last name, with a one letter substitution.

I learned the hard way. I made up a fictitious "family" on a car shop when I first started. The target tripped me up during the test drive.

Now I stay as close to the truth with my aliases and back stories. It's so much easier to remember and stay in character.
I've used names from Anne Rice novels.

The best has been Pat Benatar.

Thows them off their game.
I actually use one that I made up when my daughter was title and they’d want you to give your name and email for something. I use the same one every time. As I do for my fictitious partner for child care shops, apartment shops, or my excuse for not purchasing that day (have to talk it over with him) etc. I have a fake young child (pandemic oops!), partner’s employment, etc). Using the same story every time just makes it easier.
