RC no fee

So, does everyone now pick up the RC at no fee and pay out of pocket beyond the reimbursement? We must have millions of shoppers in the market compared to the number of shops. That's why all the no fee shops are being taken off the board so quickly.

Been that way for awhile. It's the same people doing the Jersey Mike's shops for another MSC with no pay.
Raising Cane's, Post Malone's favorite!

After not having it for five years, it was catered one time at work. I'll admit, the sauce is good, and it tasted better than I remember, after not having it for a long time. But on a similar note to the Jersey Mike's and Five Guys thread, for me, this is one of those places that I would have to be paid at least $10 to do. And I shop for sit-down meals! But I know my area, and this would not happen often.
I have done one JM for no shop pay since I was not out of pocket. I will not do RC for no fee. I’m out of pocket $6 as it is with the $11 reimbursement since I purchase the Caniac. I pick them up at a minimum of $10 shop fee.
Since newbies tend to do shops for free and wipe those shops off the board, what are you all doing in your spare time?
I've never been to Raising Cane's. But I've read a lot about here and done a little research. I love fried chicken, as long as it's not more breading than chicken, and it's cooked properly. I may try it, if I ever find a store where I am, just to taste it.

I did a Big Chicken shop last week ($25 pay, no reimbursement), it really breaks my heart if what they served to me was actually the fried chicken that Shaq's mother fed him when he was growing up. Not to mention that it wasn't drained at all and served to me so hot that the hot grease in the chicken burnt my face and my hand. And the "whipped cream" on top of the shake was an unnatural shade of white. They showed me a can that said "whipped cream" on it, but didn't let me read the ingredients. If one of you chooses to do one of these shops, I hope the store you go to does better.

I won't do negative $$ shops. If I need some of the shop pay to cover the cost of the purchase, they need to be well bonused. I will occasionally do a straight pay shop that covers the required purchase and leaves about the same amount as profit, like the Chipotle shops used to and that Big Chicken shop I did.
As with Morled, I had never dined at Raising Cane and I was curious. It was OK and since it was not an assignment, I think the cost was approx. $4. Unless there was not any other eatery available, I would not return nor would I apply for a shop.

Since daddy posted concerning a comparison, RC, in my opinion, is no match for Kroger's Thurs. bird. $5 + another $5 + at least a $10 fee for a 4 lb. rotisserie chick OR on any day, 4 pieces of breaded bird for the same money.
Did you purchase two individual chicken strips? In my area, that is all that you can get at RC for $4.

Was it possibly the kid's combo?

I actually found out about mystery shopping through Raising Cane's, when volunteering with a not-for-profit through work. I remember one person exchanged fifty vouchers for a free kid's meal into one large buffet-type offering for an event. To me, it's kind of like finger food you would have at a tailgate.
My visit was last yr. and I do not recall the order. As the lone purpose was curiosity, knowing me, I picked the least expensive menu item.
These shops are really easy to do. I'll gladly do the one near my house with no shop fee since it's so close by, and the difference between reimbursement and my own cost is only around $1. But otherwise I hold out for at least the minimal $3 shop fee. I rarely see $10 but do occasionally get $5 or $7.
I will not do them for less than $10. I usually will get one a month. I used to do them for $15, but someone started taking them for no fee.

No RC nearby where I live but when it comes to no fee and out of pocket expense, two topics often discussed on this forum, I see a big difference with a no fee or even a fee pd shop if I am out of pocket q few dollars on an inexpensive purchase vs being out of pocket on a shop where the item I get and pay out of pocket a few dollars is retail at over $50. I have done some of those in the past and have always managed to stay in pocket but if I had to do a relatively easy report and pay a few dollars for a wanted expensive item I might choose it.
Finally! You win the internet of the day but please don't do it without fee, or $3, or $5, or $7. I know I can't tell you what to do which I just did. However, for the sake of the reasonable pay for other shoppers, resist the urge to pick up no fee shop, till it is reasonable and fair for gas and time.

There are some shoppers in my area who are retired and take them at no fee. They see it as getting a discount on their food and don’t want to miss out on it because they were waiting for a bonus. I usually don’t take them until they hit at least $5 fee.
Box Combo is $12.44 after tax in my area, so $1.44 out of pocket. I'm waiting until fee goes above $5, but others in my area take them at $3.
I get the Caniac and share wtih my husband. It is not worth my time unless they are bouned to least $10 (especially if its a DT).
So I did a reimbursement only shop at a Cane's near work today. For 86 cents out of pocket I got my Box Combo with a large drink (instead of regular). Complain all you want about what I did, but it was a wonderful lunch and was still much cheaper than getting lunch elsewhere on my own. That's one reason why these shops tend to get "eaten up" with minimal or no shop fees.
you could go to Costco and get a slice of pizza or a hot dog combo (and go inside for tasters too). no report needed. no worrying about when you will get reimbursed either.

you can do what you want with your time. everyone has that choice. I value my time and can afford to be selective with what i take. I have done RC for $5 fee. I will not take it for free. That report is WORSE than a 5g report.

jp, I have a better idea than what you stated. Today, I visited a Kroger's and departed with a $5 cooked chicken that was a hair under 4 lbs., 2 salad kits that were marked down to $1.65 each and a jumbo bag of thick chips reduced to $1.94. In addition, I will be paid $10 for the stop. As for the report, it would be difficult in this era to find one any simpler.
Bob, can you give me an idea of who offers Kroger shops? I did a delivery one a year or so ago but haven't seen anything since. Doing it in the store itself is even better because of all the various manager's specials you normally can't get when ordering online.
jp opines--Doing it in the store itself is even better because of all the various manager's specials you normally can't get when ordering online.

Bob absolutely agrees--I do not have the slightest interest in the pick-up jobs. On Monday, as an example, I was able to purchase several food items that had been considerably reduced. Such is only possible with a physical presence, where I am able to scour the reduced produce table, the deli shelves, the marked down display and the aged meat section.

SECOND, I have an 8 hr. time frame. NONE of the concerns of being late exist with the in-store work..

Finally, as was shared with me by a life long worker, she is rarely able to fulfill pick-ups without substitutions. I have no interest in what someone else thinks might be acceptable.
Is the reimbursement $11 everywhere? Here in CA it's at least $4 short of what the box combo costs. I took one for a $5 fee which leaves .91 cents profit. That's about as high as the fees go.
