Any one ever get contacted by the store owner?

I received a text msg. today from the manager of a recent shop I completed....Basically stated that what I reported was not correct.....They backtracked my phone # from the call I had to make prior to the store visit !!!
Should I report this to the MSC?
Never had this happen before!!!!!
This was for a franchised fitness location....Not PF......but the one with the saunas...

I would walk away in silence.
If the MSC learns that you were identified, you will probably be kicked off the project.
If I have been paid, I would remain silent, but would avoid this location for a while.
If they don't want to pay, you would lose the "he said she said" argument with the client.
The store manager probably had to deal with upper management because of your report. He should be fired for contacting you in any form after he has the results of the shop (someone was probably supposed to call you within one or two days after your visit for a sales call).

A lot depends on the MSC. Some will deactivate you, or remove you from the project. A few might inform the corporate client, that would most likely result in the termination of the employee.

It doesn't matter if they realize who the shopper was, it's actually to their advantage to know who the shopper is, and to give said shopper the best service they've ever offered. You could be limiting your options if you tell them. I think the best bet would be to report the text message to the corporate company, and if it happens again, the police, and leave the MSC out of it.
I miss Maritz. Several times when clients thought they knew who the shopper was and contacted the MSC about an issue, Maritz would call me for more information in a non-accusatory way. What was I wearing, did a manager say something, etc. It wasn't me and they never suggested that I was lying. Unlike their successor. I agree with Jgardn and Moreled, these days MSCs are more likely to take a client's side - wrong or right. The clients pay them we don't.

I did. It was a pizza chain shop. I reported that employees were using profanity when speaking to one another. The MSC gave the owner my name and phone number. He apologized for contating me but wanted descriptions of the employees.

You should absolutely report this to the MSC.. It's a form of harassment, even if the tone of the text was polite. They're not supposed to be texting you regarding your report

I don't think there are any Russians / And there ain't no Yanks
Just corporate criminals\ / Playin' with tanks

Why wouldn't the MSC serve as middle man here? I'd be furious, that's not OK.

Are you certain that the person contacting you is actually who they claim to be? I think I would report it as spam and not respond unless it contains enough detail that I was sure. And then, yes, I would notify the msc. Either way, I would not respond to that text.
Borders on invasion of privacy to me, not to mention potentially illegal.

Can't imagine it being acceptable for someone to directly contact a customer by tracking down their transaction information.

Have synthesizers, will travel...
I wonder, since they have your number and possibly your name from the caller ID, if they could find your home address. That is spooky. I would tell the MSC, even if I did get kicked off the project. Like the person above, this is a form of harassment. If you don't tell the MSC, you could just call the cops and have them go talk to the manager and ask that he not contact you anymore. Just my two cents...

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.

I once did a mortgage compliance shop. The loan officer failed to provide his nMLS. I noted that in my report. He called my home, looked up my son’s address and number and contacted him rather irate that I had reported his lack of compliance. I was quite annoyed but let it slide.
You might want to get a free Google Voice phone number that you only use for job calls so you do not have to use your personal phone number. I have one that I set up as "Do not disturb" mode so all calls go to voice mail and txt msgs are logged. My voice mail message is generic with no listing of my name.

You can google most people and find their address or phone number, so this is definitely a possibility that they could find where you live.
