Panda Express Shop Ordering Requirement

Hello All,

Has anyone ordered a 3 item plate before from panda? It says only 1 bowl or plate and nothing else but Im wondering if I could spend an extra 2 dollars to get the 3 item combo and make it into 2 meals.

I have NOT read it recently. I think it said NO. Maybe it does not specifically say that anymore? I don't know. Just order 2 item. You want to risk it, that's on you. I think they want bowl or 2 item only.
They updated their new guidelines 6/14/25. I don't remember what the old one says but the new one says Order ONE bowl or plate and that's it. I normally take it as if they don't have a DO NOT ORDER A 3 ITEM COMBO or something that says don't do it I'm safe. I emailed the scheduler just to make sure also.

Thanks for your reply!
The 3 entree meal is a "Bigger Plate", not a "Plate"

It really doesn't matter. If you buy the bigger plate they will reject your shop, even if it doesn't specifically say so in the guidelines. They'll change the rules retroactively after they reject your shop. Just like they did when we all bought those bundles that Panda offered.
Yep scheduler confirmed. Oh wells Free Panda is still Free Panda. Bummer that I'm in the OC area so we get $6 dollar plates after the Dodgers win at home (which is quite often) but can't stack these deals or even order a separate order.

Not sure what you meant by the "can't...even order a separate order" comment. The reimbursement only covers a bowl/plate anyway, but I'm frequently grabbing lunch/dinner for more than just me. So, I order the required dish and base my shop on that. Separately, I've ordered (or had my guest order) and pay separately, and just consider the shop payment as covering that...even works well with the online order and pickup shops.
I always assumed we were only allowed to order just for the shop and no additional orders but good to know for the future. Thanks
For the shop, you order the plate/bowl ONLY. no drinks.

Anyone looking to feed more people will just place 2 separate online orders. Or do an online order and do an in person order after finishing the shop as an online order. If we are dining inside, i will have wifey just go to the counter and order her and the kids food. Then I do my in-person shop as a stand-alone.

It's not complicated to complete the shop and still get other things in addition as separate interaction.

I have done restaurant shops where they only say 2 people are allowed. If we choose to go as a family, I will put my kids at a separate table next to me or behind me and let them handle their own stuff. I don't have small kids so I can do this. When they were under 10, I could not pull that off.
I'm a very good eater, but even a plate is too much to me, so I roll with a bowl.

If I'm in store I do Honey Walnut Shrimp to make sure I get max reimbursement.

But it doesn't travel well, so the concept of doing a plate and taking leftovers doesn't really fly for me.

Have synthesizers, will travel...
