Food Recalls & MSing

I've been curious about this since noting the emphasis on deli meat slicer use in the Boars Head
and Jersey Mikes shops....and since I've learned that some groups of people are warned about eating deli meat - even without a recall.

I found this info via AI:

In the past five years, from 2020 to 2024, the number of food recalls in the US has generally increased. Specifically, the number of recalls rose from 454 in 2020 to 547 in 2023, an increase of over 20%, according to food safety analysis. While the number of recalls dipped slightly in 2024, it remained 15% higher than in 2020.

So, with BH, the problems were isolated to the manufacturing facilities, I don't recall anyone pinching blame at the retail level.

If the problems tend to start at wholesale level, I guess they could compound further if precautions are not taken at the retail level? I am picturing the manufacturers and the retailers pointing fingers at each other....maybe MS reports give them backup.

Thoughts?
