Shop cancelled because of fine dining restaurant was not open.

I was recently assigned a casino overnight, and I made the recorded reservation call. The scheduler called me about a week later to do a walk-through. I told her the fine dining restaurant would be closed on the night I was there. They pulled the shop because the restaurant had to be shopped. I had to cancel my reservations. Should I get any compensation? I probably spent more than an hour reading guidelines, 30 minutes making the reservation, and writing the narrative. They are saying they cannot pay because I did not complete the shop.

Reading guidelines is your "cost" of doing business, but I'd say the right thing for them to do would be a partial compensation for the reservation task and related writing.
