Cricket audits - they were good while they lasted

This one really chaps my ashtabula. Have y'all noticed that the Cricket audits are starting out at $15 now? Talk about Stingy McStingerson. They've also changed it so that you can only do two per day.

I was lamenting the fact that one of the Crickets here in Podunk closed, and that would be one less audit for me. I guess it doesn't matter now; I'm not going to do the audits and let the powers that be think I'm okay with a pay cut.

I think they always started at $15, but were willing to bonus as time went on. Are they with the same company?
What got me is the two per day limit plus havng to schedule a visit time two days in advance. Even at $40 a pop, it's just not worth it to lock myself into a timetable around those two shops two days in advance.
I always saw them start at $20.

Me too.
The fee will increase if they don't get done. I did two for $70 each in August.

That's awesome, @Thunder! Wish they'd get that high in my area. They get taken right away around here.
I guess it's all supply and demand. The only reason that mystery shopping companies are able to lower their pay is because some contractors are willing to accept jobs for lower pay. If I lived in an area where all of the jobs got snapped up at the beginning pay, I would not be a mystery shopper. There are very few jobs in the industry that are worth doing at base pay, at least imo.

Usually these cricket compliance reviews only take between 15 and 30 minutes. However, sometimes the location is busy, and it takes a lot longer. The guidelines state that you might have to stay at the location for up to 2 hours. At that point, it's well below minimum wage, and that's not even considering the time and effort to read the guidelines, print the form, and travel to the location. Why anyone would do all of that for $15 is beyond my wildest imagination. They must be super bored or super desperate for any kind of money they can get. Or some combination of the two.
