Salaried roles

Has anyone “secret shopped” or audited in a salaried capacity?
How was it?

I have seen options for this over the years. I have never seen anything that I would consider, as I live in California. It would need to be $100,000 a year or more with a limit of 40 hours a week and full benefits, including medical and 401K.
That's fair. I'm single, don't require quite that much and would love to be on the road. Forbes has rejected me 100 times, and I will still apply every time lol
There are a few options with higher end MS companies, and others like Michelin/AAA and such that might work if you are single, but the pay I have seen is nothing like what SCM is asking for.

You need to live near an airport hub, and most of those evaluators are choosing places with a low cost of living to make that work.

The closest I ever got was being salaried as a scheduler in my "youth", and that offered medical benefits, but the MSC I worked for no longer allows their employees to also shop. Or has salaried schedulers. Or pays anywhere near what I would need to live in CA.
I was invited to apply for one, and I was very excited until I asked about the pay. I forget the rate. It was basically something that would have been okay for the type of work, considering the benefits, but I would have had to fly around and live out of hotels for extended periods. They weren't paying nearly enough for that.

Back when I was looking into it seriously, the pay was almost half what I received as a scheduler....hence my foray into working for a MSC.

It's also not such a great lifestyle. You will have issues creating long-term bonds with people at home because you are gone all of the time.
As Steve has mentioned, the only positions I've heard of are with AAA, I believe they are called Diamond inspectors. Looks very competitive to come onboard.

You might also, for enjoyment, catch films about the lifestyle.
