"Photo unreadable"

That's a new one. If I take a picture of a receipt, I make sure my phone gives the "scan" option before I snap and it takes a crisp, high resolution image. You can zoom right in there and read everything easily. Heck, the QR codes work! But, they claim they "can't read it" and want me to cut it in half and retake the photo (so they don't have to learn how to zoom) and preferably use their app instead of the website. As if. I cut it in half and sent a new image but hard pass on the app. BTW, I have never cut a grocery receipt in half and somehow that MSC manages to use a long and narrow but clear image without whining...

They have done the same thing to me. It's frustrating.

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.
Not grocery receipts, but extra long shipping receipts.. When I first started doing shipping shops, the receipts were too long for the phone camera capabilities. I was told by a scheduler to cut the receipts in half and take the picture of the pieces next to each other.

A few years later, a scheduler suggested that I could take a pic of the top half and a separate pic of the bottom half, and upload 2 pics, and it would be fine as long as the editors could see the entire receipt.

Then, about a year before the shop went to a the new MSC, I got in trouble because it "clearly says in the guidelines" that the entire receipt has to be in one pic. But phone cameras have advanced a LOT, and their receipts were marginally shorter, I could take perfectly clear readable pictures of whole receipts.

As far as their software and or lack of technical abilities, I can't really expect an editor that can't read a 24 hour clock to understand how to zoom in on a picture..
Ditto on refusal of the app and/or taking pics with it!
They also wanted me to double check that the time matches. Um... it does??? I hadn't even considered that they might think I went to the post office at 4 AM! I can't change how they print the time on their receipts but the post office obviously isn't staffed all night and they have the stupid screenshot to show the hours that day were 9 AM - 6 PM so that question should answer itself. And I wonder how they read the time if they couldn't read the receipt?

I never read their approval notifications so I went back a few and looked. So many bizarre complaints! There are several with whining about not having geocoded images (the location with zip code is on the building, where do you think the photo was taken?) but also one saying not to take pictures via 3rd party apps. I never have for these??? Mostly, they want me to use their app and occasionally claim that it's "required".

@Deedeezthoughts - which phone are you using?

Pixel 6pro. And yes, my location is on, the photos ARE, in fact, geocoded. I can see that it's accurate. They simply don't know what they're doing.

OK. I can't be of any help. I haven't had any returned for these issues. I am using a iPhone 16 Plus. Sorry.

I appreciate that you want to fix it, no need to apologize.

Ultimately, they accepted it with the two pieces of receipt (geocoded location of my kitchen table).

This was the first time they've returned a shop. I never cut my receipts, it hasn't been a problem before now.

It's possible that the ISS platform strips the location data when the photo is uploaded. Heck, maybe they see a low quality image because the site reduced it so much to make the file smaller. Not my problem to resolve, they should use a different site to post if ISS doesn't meet their needs.
When geocoding first began for, I think, Sassie, I informed the MSC I use a camera and I would not be converting. If my position were unacceptable, simply terminate our agreement. To the best of my recollection, no MSCs struck me from their rolls.

I have been fortunate, in that I have experienced A problem with AN editor. When it was obvious I was unable to satisfy the gal, I explained I had given my best and suggested she decline my report; to my surprise I was paid. I refuse to be aggravated for what shopping pays.

As always, the above does not apply to those folks who are financially desperate.
If you want to see a LONG receipt, go to PETSMART and buy 1 item. It is longer than a 11x14 sheet of paper for that 1 item. Obviously not as wide, but length is quite excessive. Guess they haven't figured out how to print promotional things on the back of the receipt so save paper.
CVS took the cake for long receipts for the longest time. I think they are still longer than Walgreen's. Don't shop at PetSmart (though need to check their prices on FreshPet for the GF's pooch, that stuff is spendy).

Have synthesizers, will travel...
Off topic, but for those that may not know, when checking out in the store at PetSmart, they will match prices, including from their own website. Just show the lower price on your phone from Amazon, WalMart, etc.

Back to your regularly scheduled program. . .
i'm buying 12 crickets at a time. $2.22. I'm not putting that much effort into trying to spend $2.08 or something. Just not worth it, but nice to know the policy. I have used it myself when buying bigger ticket items

Even when I'm at Lowe's or Home Depot, I will ask for a discount from the other place when they ask if I found everything I needed. At HD, I will say "Can I get a Lowe's discount?"

Lowe's gives me 5% off for using their card. Are they giving you that at HD?!
I oncew had an editor try to say one of my photos was taken off the internet when it certainly wasnt.
