Strange situation

I have been with a certain MSC for over 15 years. The company does all financial shops- both in person and phone. Recently I had not received any shop invitations and wrote the scheduler. She informed me that I had been given assignments recently which I did not complete and that I never replied to email requests she had sent. Well,. I checked my email and there were no assignments or emails. I tried to log into the website using the email I have had for 25 years. The site indicated that the password did not work and when I hit forget password it came back that no such account existed. I was perplexed and wrote back. She informed me that I was using the wrong email and that the correct email was a shortened version of my real email. She said I needed to use that email. Well, it is not my email. I was able to log in with the shortened email. Problem is that she will send invitations to that email which in reality does not exist. I will never get them! I have NO IDEA why this company took it upon themselves to change my real email in their system to a shortened version. I wrote the scheduler and she told me to apply to gmail for the email that they had decided to assign me so that I could get invitations and assignments. I did so and the email is not available it is taken by someone else. I am totally baffled as to why a company would do this. Anyone else have such an experience? I suspect the company is trying to get rid of me yet the scheduler seems to indicate that she wants to assign me shops but I must use the email they assigned me.

Yes, strange. Surely there must be someone there who can change the email address they have for you. Probably the scheduler does not have access to that. Need to find someone else in the company, probably higher up the chain.
I've never had an experience like that. That's really weird. And crappy.

There must be a way to report a problem with your profile to their IT department. The scheduler should not have the ability to modify information in your profile but there is surely someone who does if this field is not accessible to you. And a scheduler should know how to report issues to their own employer. Goodness.
Fat lady,

My situation was similar, in that it involved my E-address. There was a mix-up and I needed to change both my log-in and password. After a few months, I stopped receiving offers. It was then necessary to change my E-mail of record from the one I used for shopping to my regular address. A few more months and there was a repeat. Finally, I opened a G account for only the MSC with which I was experiencing the problem; so far so good.

At my age, I am averse to aggravation and have not the slightest need for money. If the situation again crops up, I am finished with the company. My 28 yr. experience with Internet related problems is that it has always been on my end. A quick story to follow.

In the Spring of 2017, I began having freezing problems with completing reports on the Shopmetrics' platform employing Firefox; it was always in the middle of the page. The easy solution was to switch to Google. After purchasing a new computer with a different OS and being moved to a far more rapid connection, though, the problem still existed. I phoned Shopmetrics and was informed I was the only person reporting the difficulty. Fortunately, I subscribe to the serenity prayer.
What do shoppers do when in reality their legit e-mails changes? Can you not change the e-mail on your profile from whatever was wrongfully assigned to your real e-mail?
It sounds like someone, and it probably was not the MSC, changed your email address in their system on purpose. I don't know if you have enemies, or folks trying to steal your identity, but that is really the only way something like that can happen. Maybe when you got the verification email you just brushed it off and never gave it a second thought?

Every MSC gives you the option of changing your email address. The only sticking point might be that whoever is using that email address might get the verification email and block you from getting it back. But if they aren't even opening the emails for the assignments, then they might be not look at the verfication email, just like you didn't.

I have changed all of my email addresses with ALL of the MSC's that I work with, except RBG (I have my reasons), more than once. Just go to your profile and change your email and save it. An email will be sent to the current email address, and the folks with that email address can click the link to block you, or they can ignore it or delete it like I do (after I make sure it's something that I did).
Time to move on.

Very bizarre. I left Mystery Shopping for about 20 years, returned, and every email and password still worked correctly.

That is, if the company still existed.
