Jackson Hewitt Wal Mart Evals

Hello and good evening....

I'm guessing these are pretty easy since almost all of them have disappeared already. There are some in the rural towns around me....are they worth the time?

I don't think they are worth doing at base pay. I was going to do one, but going into town is just unnatural for me, I do my best to avoid going into the town here, and I've procrastinated and procrastinated and I'm still not very interested in going.
If you don't have to travel far or can make a route I say yes. Easy work...unless there's a client present.
I've done two different types. I know at least one required that you check in with customer service before going to the JH desk which makes it a PIA. If there is a line at customer service, then this will slow you down. I recall one time they had to get someone in charge before they would let me take pics and go to the JH station. Like @weatherman2111 mentioned, if there is a client present then it could slow you down.

You asked about the ones at Walmart. I've also done the ones that are not at Walmart and those don't seem to be worth the time. The owner wound up asking me a bunch of questions about JH and support. Another one was in an office building with no free parking which meant going OOP to cover that expense.
These are easy-peasy! If there are no clients present, you're in and out in 5 minutes. I've done 3 WMs near me. You do have to check the JH website to make sure of the hours of each WMs kiosk so you don't go on a day that they have off. But super easy.

They are very easy and I spent more time waiting for approval to take my photos than actually taking them. That being said, they were only in more rural areas around me. I only picked up the first one because I was able to stack it with 2 more jobs in that town and picked up the last two because no one else did and they raised the pay up to $18 and $20.

You don't have to go to customer service. Ask someone by the door. half the stores have the booth in customer service anyway.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I agree with @Weatherman2111above, in that you don't need to go to customer service. I have always just asked the person at either entrance door where the JH kiosk is because I have to take some pictures of it. I get the person's name and go on to the kiosk. I've never had a problem.
The other type did not require that you stop by Walmart customer service first. I was just trying to point out that there are hurdles and time blockers like this and if you go when there is a customer. At this point of the cycle, it is rare that they will have a customer.

I just saw that Field Agent has these jobs too. They are offering a huge payday of $2 each for half a dozen photos and answer some questions. Those people have lost their mind.
If you go to Walmart's service desk and tell them why you're there, some person will stand on the other side of the counter and look at you as if you have 3 eyes and a hole in the back of your head. They really don't know and don't care. Guysmom and Weatherman are right, ask where the kiosk is, get that person's name.

Name? I've never needed a name.
Sometimes you need a name in the app, sometimes you don't. I haven't done my audit yet, not sure if it's even still assigned to me at this point.
All 3 that I did this month asked for a name. I'm doing another one next week, I'm sure it will ask too.
When I did mine it asked for the name of the Walmart Employee and also the name of the JH Representative later.

Names were asked for in the app I used for the JH kiosks at WMart, names for both the Associate who showed me where the kiosk was, and the name of the JH employee.

They are quick and easy. You don't need to go to the Walmart Service Center and wait in line. Just ask any employee you find thats located in the front of the store, ask them where the kiosk is, and they'll direct you. Enter their name in the app, and move along with the job.

@Cassiespark and others, yes there was one type of JH Audit where the instructions stated you had to check in with WalMart customer service. I didn't go to CS because I had time to waste. I mentioned there was more than one type, so clearly you had the other type, which I also had, where you go to the preparer, introduce yourself, ask them questions regarding procedure, and take pics.

@weatherman2111 you mentioned that half the JH kiosks are in CS. I've never seen a single one in CS.

On the ones that I didn't have to check in with CS, I never bothered asking anyone where the kiosk was because it was pretty obvious where they were. Almost always against the front wall as you exit the checkout lines.
All the ones I had said to check in at Customer Service, which I did. All the kiosks were in the front of the store for me, but not all the same spot. One was in a small location at the end of self checkout, another in the money center, and one was just kind of sitting there by a wall.

You may actually be right and I'm misremembering.
