Unfortunately, that formatting is the new normal.
As a nation of mostly idiots, US citizens are living in Short Attention Span Theater.
Of the population that can actually read, an ever increasing amount are put off by the sight of properly constructed paragraphs, and will not read them as a result.
As an educator, I can no longer count on my students reading entire paragraphs, so I break everything down to individual sentences, leaving them no excuse for not fully consuming the content I present.
