Advice on doing Watches of Switzerland Group shops

Interested in doing some of these shops. I don't know squat about luxury watches. The shop overview mentions that the shopper needs to take the pre-shop research aspect seriously. I'll get as much info as I can about the specific model I'm inquiring about. For those of you that have done these shops, what tips can you give me to appear to be a savvy luxury watch shopper?

Thanks in advance for any wisdom you can provide.

Be sure that you understand the price range of these watches. It is best to dress the part. A suit is not required, but you need to portray someone who can easily drop 10s of thousands of dollars on a watch and explain why you want one, what features you want, why now, etc.

I did one, and it was fun. I used to have a corporate title thst sounded more impressive than it was, so I used an old business card. Definitely not required. Be prepared for the question about how many and which watches you already own. I said zero (the truth), but knew why I wanted one now. It didn't hurt that I could talk (honestly) about walking around Geneva (true) and knowing that someday I was going to own one (not true). BTW, many brands have long waiting lists to own a new one, so getting a Certified pre-owned watch is reasonable. Many older models are worth more now than when they were new, but not the ones you will be looking at.

You have to start somewhere buying luxury items. I shopped for one once supposidly for husbands milestone birthday. The base price for the watches is in the range for nice engagement rings. If men can shop for diamonds for their future wives why cant you shop for a watch for your beloved? I think once I was doing footwork for the watches when sister & I wanted to go in together for a gift for anther sister. Be creative, be confident, and enjoy. The store I shopped presented me with a little tray of a mug of coffee and swiss chocolates to enjoy while shopping.
I just did one while on vacay in New Orleans for a family wedding.

FWIW, the research was not necessary for the shop itself, but you will need to provide a research narrative for the report.

My shop was super easy, and way shorter than the time frame specified, to the point I had to add extra narrative as to why I was only in the store for 12 minutes.

Main thing is to have a solid story as to the reason for the purchase.

In my case, I had just received a windfall and wanted the watch in homage to a dead friend who used to wear the brand.

I used the availability of limited edition NFL models as my out for not purchasing that day.

The local shops are only paying $60, and my NO shop paid $90, so I will wait and see if the locals last long enough for the fee to at least go that high.

I should add that getting the required pics inside the store could be challenging.

When I expressed interest in the NFL option the salesperson left me at the display case to check inventory on the computer behind the counter, providing me with a few seconds while their back was to me to grab a photo of the overall case. I zoomed and cropped that pic to create the shot of the target watch.

For the brand with the NFL option, that is the play IMNSHO.

I wouldn't make that the target watch, but rather use it as pivot, provided the NFL shield is in the display case as it was for my shop.

They make a limited number every year, with limited inventory available from previous series, so it makes for an easy out.
