Firehouse sub shop with thermometer

Anyone see these shops out there? it's only a $7 fee, but it doesn't seem too complicated. I prefer using a thermometer to check the temp than to try and take pictures of equipment behind the counter at another sub place for a different MSC.

I've seen them. But they tell you what you have to order, with no modifications, and I can't stand mayo, so, I won't do them.
I signed up to try one because it's in the middle of other activities and will land right around lunch time and right where I will be. Haven't done it yet but I noticed while skimming that they want you to check the bathroom and photograph the menu board, too. It's one of those with a lot of small things that you might forget. I will complete the report nearby in case I have to run back in for something. And I made sure the thermometer reminder is prominent on my calendar.
I will have to check the report. I just grabbed it and set it for later in the week. I hope this is an ON-going project. Would hate to learn all the nuances of a new shop for a 1x project.

Thanks for mentioning this. I'm not down with mayo either.

I saw them last month but didn't have anything that lined up that time.
I did one today, and it was very easy. I also do not like mayo, but once it was on the sandwich, I couldn't taste it, I just had to consume the calories.
I did one today too. Just be sure to get all of the pictures they require. I've been in a Firehouse once before this job. Pretty cool.

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.
They actually have 2 types of shops. One of revealed and you have to measure and photograph the toaster settings. But it pays $25 I think.
that's the only kind I saw near me in FL. I would probably take a shop for food, but it looked like a lot of work in the toaster survey.

Woah. A thermometer for a $7 shop sounds insanely-low, though I assume you get a free sub as part of it, so if it tastes nice then maybe it's okay (?) A thermometer seems like way too much work for me. I'd only do that sort of shop if I really loved the burger. I did one that cheap for a Five Guys once, and they were amazing with their service and the food is delicious, but other ones for that kind of fee where I end up buying jewellery nobody wants or paint that nobody wants are problematic. The bottom line is that you're really doing it for the free burger, not the $7, and if that's what you want then go for it. We don't have Firehouse here so I don't know how good it is, but if it's as good as Five Guys and it's in your area, go for it.
We have a FH here and they it is actually pretty good.

The last time I saw one, which was several months ago, you had to order from the app I believe and pick it up at the counter and take it go.

I have done a different restaurant before where you had to take a picture of the register/menu area

I wonder if the same MSC as last time.. If it is, I have not seen it unless I am over looked it

Yeah, I wouldn't buy a thermometer in order to do these. But, if you already have one and like the food? It's a good shop to add to a route so you aren't buying food mid-day from your pocket. But maybe put the thermometer in your vehicle when you claim it because you can't do the shop without that.
Some of us already have a thermometer from doing other shops. I know I bought one to complete a set of Fast Food Shops a few years ago before I realized it had to be a Drive thru shop. (I have no car). So this Firehouse Sub shop helped me recoup the cost of the thermometer.

There's a company I test for that gives me a new one every few months. I kept a few but a lot of them end up gifted to family/friends because you only need so many. My college students give them as gifts to their fellow home chef-in-training pals. I like to joke that we're saving young adults from salmonella.
I always carried one with me when I was a DM for a fast food chain. I still have some of them. Keep in mind they may need to be calibrated from time to time.
Because of these shops I now have a 3rd instant read digital thermometer that lives in my car.. I have one for cooking, that mostly only gets used for making yogurt. And one that is here on my desk that came with a candle making kit.
