Burgers are getting expensive

I did a 5 Guys shop today. Double burger, small fries, small drink....$22. The shop fee and reimbursement barely covered the cost of the meal. How can people with a family afford to eat out, even for a burger.

Many places to get a combo for half that. I bet Wendy's double combo would be about 12.00.

5 Guys makes decent food but not anywhere worth the money in my book.
Jaggers is where its at! A combo meal with a variety of sides for around $12 (depending upon the entree selected). If you're unfamiliar, its a chain within the TXR family. They blow 5G out of the water.

5G’s should provide hand wipes for those sloppy burgers and grease soaked fries.
You can buy a pound of grass fed ground beef for less and sub the fries with something like homemade potato salad with sea salt for the carb/salt fix. Not a big fan of too much egg or mayo in it so I have to make it myself. Also seasoned corn on the cob for some fiber. Cold potatoes and organic ground beef are healthy. This would make 3 meals for the same price. The salt these places put in the meat is sickening. Your stomach with thank you for it. I would give Jaggers a chance and In and Out is also good.

Per the guidelines, Five Guys suggests getting a Little Hamburger to help keep costs down. I wish they would still add at least $1-2 to the reimbursement amount because overall costs have gone up over the past few years. I usually get a Little Cheeseburger and don't mind paying $1-2 out of pocket, especially if there is a nice shop fee involved.

Edit: If you can get a Buffalo Wings Shop (moved to another MSC, not the same as Five Guys now), I suggest ordering an All American Burger as part of the Pick 6 bundle. For the price, you get the burger, your choice of potatoes (the wedges are my favorite), and a drink. It's not the highest quality, but it's a very tasty burger all things considered.

Five Guys burgers have always been expensive. Delicious, but expensive. They just keep going up. I guess they are the "high tier" burger now.

I love Jaggers... I wonder why they are not shopped but TRH is?
I have never paid $22 for Five Guys. Usuallly around 15.22 with tax for the combo.
The price does not bother me as long as the client fully reimburses. I have never had a problem stying within the 5G reimbursement.
If anyone uses the Upside app, check to see if Five Guys is on it in your area. That can give you 10-20% back (sometimes a bit more) and help lessen the sting of paying more than the reimbursement amount (or just give you a nice little bonus even if you spend below the max reimbursement to begin with).
