Take the money and run? Haha wouldn't that be nice.

I guess no different than if you were just stopping by to make a deposit - not on a shop. Hope to hell you're still alive and safe when it's done.
Just make sure you get your required interactions, so you get paid---- LOL

Well, hope it never happens, but it could happen at any location we are at either for business or personal reasons.

If you are asking what the MSCs would do---- your guess is as good as mine.
and do not let the robber know you are on a mystery shop. :-) :-)

maybe that could be the mystery shop itself. you are a customer who is also a bank robber.

how did the teller respond when you told him/her that you were robbing them?
did they give you the money?
did they contact their manager?
were they courteous throughout the robbery?
Given my numerous hero citations, I would think I'd be expected to save everyone!

GLAD MY FELLOW SHOPPERS ARE IN A JOVIAL MOOD THIS MORNING!!!!!!!!!! Reminds me of last night at my local mall. I was shopping Office Max and it was dark out. The employee actually walked me to my car (it was right near the door). He said the county has a lot of crime and he wanted to make sure I was safe. I don't think he knew I was a shopper - I was only required to spend $2.00 but made significant purchases because I needed toner and a camera case.
Funny you should ask that question. the FF shop I do quite often was robbed the same day I did my shop. Just later in the night (thank goodness!)
Years back I was doing a demo and saw a gunman come in the front door. I was at a table close to the front. I left my table told management and left the building.
Company accepted and understood.
LOL! Not laughing at you but the situation. I would have done the same thing but probably yell out. WTF and forget all about telling the manager.

maybe they should start arming the bank tellers in some areas. my own bank was robbed a few weeks ago, but i don't perform mystery shops there. a man walked in with a note that he was robbing the bank, but he never openly displayed a weapon. so they gave him the money, in case he had a concealed weapon.

i heard on the news one time that there was even a man who purposely demanded that the bank only give him two dollars during a bank robbery, so that he could be charged with a felony and go to madatory jail because he lacked health insurance outside of jail. so he walked into the bank with a note demanding two dollars and waited for the police to arrive to arrest him. then he got medical coverage in jail.
Be sure and include details of criminal in report...

Being I was a Corrections Officer for 19 years I might get involved if I could get a surpirise move on the robber, if not stay still and be quiet. I'm basically a law and order person that is why I might get involved.
It has happened, but not necessarily in a bank.

I have also arrived at a bank that was closed indefinately because a robbery had happened there an hour before. Took pic of police crime scene tape across the doors. MSC rescheduled and thanked me.

I once arrived at a gas station shop to discover the place swarming with police and cordoned off with crime scene tape. I thought there had been a holdup but it turned out it was a police bust of the station for selling drugs and counterfeit merchandise. The MSC was very nice about it. I was paid for my visit and did another shop a week later when the station was reopened, for which I was also paid.

maybe the mystery shopping report will be used as evidence in a courtroom to incarcerate the bank robber, lol. just the facts, no opinions.

just wondering if anyone here might have been robbing a bank, while it just so happened that it was being mystery shopped, lol. hope that never happens, but what if?
Just remember while you are on the floor praying and when the robber comes up to you and says "be quiet" that he might be caught off guard if you say "I'm just here to see what the platinum account offers and I need that guys last name".

make sure that you ask the robber for a business card for your report.
"Pardon me sir, could you remove that ski mask? I need your hair and eye color too".
I suppose you can't just pull out your trusty Glock and wing him?

What if my paperwork states that you can "absolutely positively not bring any firearms with you?" :-)
No firearms doesn't mean no tasers, mace and grenade launchers if I interpret it correctly.

I was in a bank once while it was robbed. The incredibly impolite robber went ahead of me up to the counter and it was my turn! How rude. So what happens is he runs out with the money, dropping it along the way, the teller yells CODE 54 (or some other number, can't remember!) and immediately all doors are locked, you are not going anywhere. The police and investigators (I think they were FBI) arrive within minutes and question you to see if you were an accomplice or what you can remember about the description, etc. as a witness. Meanwhile, your husband, who is waiting in the car for you to make a fast transaction, notices police cars surrounding the bank and becomes curious as to why his wife is not exiting the building in a timely manner. (I actually had the whole family in the car, 2 kids, my dad and his ladyfriend). We were on our way to the state fair and I ran into withdraw cash for the day. My husband is not permitted to be near the building. I eventually made it out. I was pretty shaken up. But that thief was terribly rude to crowd and take my place in line. I had been waiting and I was NEXT!
I would hope at the very least that the msc would give you a hero citation smiling smiley
God forbid if you fail to get the name of the bank robber for the report. smiling smiley

if you don't get the bank robber's name, then i'm just giving you an 8/10 for the shop, lolol.
Don't forget you need to be non-offensive when stating his height, weight and shoe size.
