Have anyone purchase a Dell computer using the MFI discount coupon? Did it work? --the coupon.

I tried using it and dell site informed me the coupon had expired.

Now the MFI does not say anything about expiration. I emailed MFI's help desk to see what they had to say. but as usual they reply was automated----Out of reply. Not in office." If Dell and MFI are no longer working together, then MFI shoiuld take the opportunity for the Dell merchandise off their website.

DO NOT ORDER from Pacific Geek... they are garbage... take to long to ship, run out of product, and the one shipped doesnt work right
-- the computer that i am on right now, its clock has to be reset because the battery that keeps time is broken and some of the software was out of date... toke me a ton of time fixing these problems... it also had no codecs to run dvd files...

I have bought almost all of my computers refurbished, online at deep discounts. Check the reviews of the seller carefully. I also by cameras, DVDs, audio components, etc the same way.

I have had good luck with Pacific Geek. My orders arrive quickly and any problems are quickly solved. Take the little 2030 battery out of an old computer, purchase a new one anywhere or simply notify Pacific Geek. They will send you a new one no charge. DVD Codecs can be acquired from Microsoft up dates or download.com...

oh i have all the codecs right now (Gom player has them all- korean media player)... and updated my software...

but the computer was promised as a refurb- which means some one checked to see if all the hardware and software was in working order... and well obviously they did not...

right now they have 2/5 stars of dealsucker.com and viewpoints.com

from what i found they have about 1 positive review to 5 negative ones...

How do you all find time to find things online to buy? I'm doing good grabbing something to buy while MSing.

weekends... late nights... no family... not my full time job...

doesnt really take much time... you just need to know what you are looking for... and search on sites that you trust... plus having a smart phone turns bathrooms into shopping malls...

My car insurance seems to have some privileges which includes 30% off and free shipping to various computer companies. I am going to check out the info here and there.

I told my son if he upgrade his old laptop and replace the battery. I would even take it as a christmas present. I am not 'shame. I just need something for travel.

Be careful of corporate discounts. They sound appealing, but they're often not as great as they look. That said, to be fair, I'm not sure that's the case with MarketForce -- just a warning to be careful, in general. When I want to make a purchase, I almost always check www.retailmenot.com for coupon codes. Also, if you're not registered with ebates for cash back, I highly recommend it (www.ebates.com). If you find a place to order from there and are able to find a coupon code, it's the perfect combination! Fat Wallet is another site similar to ebates. Each has some different vendors. Re: these cash back sites, if you're looking to make substantive purchases, the money can really add up.

Dell is not the Dell of a few years ago. But if you have to have one, buy one from Costco because you can take it back within 90 days if it doesn't work out. If you buy a Dell online, you have only 21 days to decide whether you want to keep or replace after that, you're on your own.

walmart is down to 14 days to return on some of their electronics...
