Cheapie Above Ground Pool

Does anyone have one of those cheep above ground pools you can buy for between $200-$600 from Walmart (or elsewhere)? One of those ones with the metal frame that you are supposed to take down in the winter?

I was thinking of getting one for the kids this summer, a real above ground pool is out of my price range this year, and was wondering if they are worth the money. They seem to be ok, but I don't know anyone that has one to ask.

Neighbors had one. Lasted one summer before it leaked. It also destroyed the grass underneath. Is there a local community pool where you can get a family membership?

@ Phoebe70...thanks. Yes, we have a community pool, but they also have a swim team that competes there which makes them open/close odd times. AND last year I swam thru many "warm" spots if you know what I mean. LOL. Grossed me out.

We had one and lasted almost one whole season.
You had to have sand on the edge under the liner.
That was a pain.
It was a great idea but in the end a lot of money.
And the grass is gone for good.
