Enjoy Your Mom

This weekend, my mom was admitted to the ER with a stroke. She can no longer talk. Our last conversation ended with "I love you." I love you too!" Don't ever think the last words that you say are unimportant!

I'm so sorry, read the other thread about this very thing, it was written by Rainey and the condition of her parents. I'm glad those were your last words.

Live consciously....
Don't be sorry. My mom is recognising us all. She is 96 and is a strong willed person. I think her frail body just can't take some of this stuff. It is wierd sitting next to my mom without her talking my ears off. Everytime she says something it is just garbly goop. You know what? I had a great Mother's Day with her today. I took her roses and a card. She smiled. Smiling is better than talking!
I am happy to hear she is still enjoying her life as you are too. You are absolutely right, I lost my Mom at the age of 12, 41 years ago. It's like it was yesterday, oh how I wish I would have had more time with her.

Enjoy the time while you can, even if it is garbly goop. You can still see her smile and that is priceless.
What a great post. Moms are so special. Mine has been gone for 11 and a half years, and was in 24 hour care for the last 4 years of her life.

Oh, and so happy to hear your last words, Rich.
