Memorial Day Weekend

Who's doing what?? I get to go & visit the inlaws for 4 days....oh joy. Much rather be going down the shore!

I'm going to try to spring my significant other out of rehab. His hip was replaced a little more than a week ago so tomorrow I take over the vehicle for the PT folks to train him on getting in and out safely without overbending the hip. I'll also see if he is walking well enough to be safe at home yet.

Will start the weekend with viewing a DVD with daughter and her family tomorrow night, Sat. I have a shop to do at my favorite Mexican restaurant, and probably Sun. I'll go to the casino down the road as I have a friend with a car in the big car show there.

I will be with my sister and bil in far northern NJ, entering a bunch of reports on Saturday, but out by their pool. Back on the road on Tuesday to finish up a huge video route. Trying to figure out how to use Movie Maker to shrink video files!!!!

Based in MD, near DC

'm just looking forward to three days off from my day job! Tuesday will be a killer as we are doing major computer updates that vow to wreck havoc with my life. I think I will do some shops on Monday and get them out of the way. I had a slight fender-bender last week and am waiting for the parts to come in to put my car in the shop. I don't want to have too many shops hanging over my head to have to worry about "should I rent a car, or just make do with hubby's truck" too much.
Other than that, O have a niece and nephew/fiancee coming to town. They will not be staying with me, but since we don't see them very often, and never met the finance there will be some type family gathering.

Headed up to see the kids and start moving some of the items up to the other house!

DH has a job interview!! WOOT! He got called yesterday and since we are going to be up in that city this weekend, the interview was scheduled for Saturday. Oh, I'm hoping so much he gets it. I know his day labor has been killing him in the heat. He just can't handle digging ditches at 53 years old, overweight in 105 degrees. I couldn't, heck, I'm lucky I can walk outside when it's 90!.

SO - if he gets offered this job, he will take it, and then we will start moving most everything to the house.

Other than that.. visiting the kids, jumping in the pool, and repainting some of the rooms before I get my things at the house.

Beastly hot here for the weekend, but that's okay since the pools open today. Yippee! Despite the heat I'll be barbecuing a St. Louis staple not known to most of the country, pork steaks. They are a low and slow cook so it doesn't involve spending a great deal of time standing in front of the fire, just stoking it every 20-30 minutes.

I got home at midnight last night from a hotel shop. Wrote absolutely nothing while at the hotel for 3 days, so I get to spend all weekend working on my report and figuring how to purge all of the food I ate at on this trip....

Hanging out in my town, no driving, having a pool party Sun afternoon.
Everyone brings something to eat, I'm bringing a couple salads, and we socialize and eat and dip in the pool. Saturday going to the mall, then to the pool on my float to tan my leggies a bit....quiet, the way I like it. Started cleaning out my closets, making piles to bring to Salvation Army Monday.

It all sounds so fun! I'm on vacation all the week after Memorial Day. Staying up late for movies and stuff, lots of relaxation and working on my house. I've limited my shops .... unless I get a few offers I can't refuse. Everybody have a great holiday!
