Airfare Sale

Southwest Airlines has a big sale thru June 14 for travel well into November! IMSC conference sites appear to be included in the routes involved.

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

I was just on Southwest trying to book a trip to Vegas this month, and found fares have tripled, from a normal $48.00 senior one way to $143/197 one way,
having said that I can't do the 115.00 job I was offered. They usually go down after the 4th, and do have 48.00 one way fares for Nov., which is the norm from L.A. to Vegas...saying they have a "big sale" seems a bit overstated....just sayin. I know my fares from L.A. to Vegas, have only flown there a zillion times.....smiling smiley

All airfare seems to be high right now. I'm guessing that has to do with the price of fuel....

It's costs us Angelinos more than $50 do drive to Vegas these days and Southwest is probably well aware of that.

A lot of airlines "locked in" jet fuel futures contracts at high prices, fearing that prices would go even higher. Now they are stuck paying for that expensive fuel as prices decline. Not defending; just saying.

I can't fill my tank for 50.00, but having done the Timeshare in Feb., I was provided with preminum gas, instead of the reguler I normally use, that helped immesly, it is a piss ass drive, never again unless I'm a passenger.

I just rechecked and the "sale" is for travel between mid-August and mid-November.

Waales, I saw that and read the fare is good for 72 hours.
