Things that are good about getting older

When I go to garage and estate sales and buy a bunch of cool old things, I often get home and it's like Christmas all over again. Forgot half of what I had bought!!

Losing my hair, gaining weight, bad night vision……oops, I misread the question….lol!
Blaming all my mistakes on getting old and people believing it. LOL

shopping Ohio and PA
Two words: Seniors Discounts!

I have to admit I'm not quite at that age yet but I've managed to save a lot of money over years by bringing my senior parents with me whenever I go shopping, lol.
Hey, Heather, put on a gray wig. You can write it off for mystery shopping, anyway! My husband gets upset when he asks for a senior discount and there is an age requirement that he doesn't meet. He likes the places that just look at him and automatically give it. When I was 27, I went to the museum with my parents and the docent asked them if I was over 12 or still got the under-12 discount. That was the only advantage I ever had to having pimples. I think I lost job opportunities for having pimples.
Chocolate? A dermatologist told me one time that he would not advise anyone to give up something as good as chocolate. I do notice that the amount of chocolate might make a pimple. For some reason, when I do a facial, I might have one the next day.
Facials often result in a pimple or two. That's why they are not recommended right before a big special event. Even at 53, if I wait awhile between a home facial there can be some bumps. Keeping with at least once a week seems to help.

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
I hear on Dr. Oz oatmeal and yogurt makes a good rub for face, and peeling a banana and rubbing the peel (inside) on face does good...I have yet to do it,
but price it right.

I write poetry and am now 78.
Thought this might give you a smile.

Golden Years

Golden Years who’s kidding who
It’s a farce It’s just not true
Try us old folks to deceive
More like rust I do believe.

Take ARTHRITIS when your old
OH how we suffer in rain and cold
Next is OSTEOPAROSIS settling in
Meaning your bones are getting thin.

ACHES and PAINS seem to be
The ones sent to cause us misery
Then you start taking lots of pills
To help you get through all your ills.

But there are compensations too
By all the seniors discounts for you
Places that offer savings galore
Darn it who could ask for more.

But At least we manage to survive
And think how lucky were still alive
And still with family we are able to share
All the love that’s always there.

All our friends are still there too
Supporting us the whole day through
So now we can forget the pain and all
FOR WHICH WE RUSTY GOLDENAGERS THANK YOU ALL.

The best part of getting older is that each year I care less and less about what other people think about me! And that can start as young as about 20. It only gets better!
you get discounts at many places like restuanrts,
movie theaters
i'm 56 but i'm already asking for the senior rate
usually i get it
Cynb I wish it was. the only one set to music was this one below.

Praise Him.

Praise the LORD for HE is great,
Rely on HIM never hesitate,
HE'S been with you from the start,
To find Him look deep into your heart,
When needed, there HE'LL always be,
Guiding you to your destiny.

It was done as a gospel.

I have another good oldage one called OLD AGE

What does SHE mean?
What I was suggesting is that your writing had HE in caps all thru it. What about SHE? If the all powerful entity has to be only HE, I am not interested.
Be it HE or maybe SHE
Either one guides you and me
Who is right, Who can say
Be it SHE or HE, To either We pray.
Finding your real self and not caring. Becoming just a little bit selfish. (Just a little bit) Acting 40 years younger and telling your kids you earned it! Taking care of things in your bucket list. (For my 50th I jumped 10,500' out of a plane!) Appreciating the wonderful human beings you created. Looking forward to the rest of your life!
Not being afraid to say it like it is, stick to the truth and be true to one's self, words to live by, and it is freeing. Does it matter what a stranger thinks, don't impress or regress, re-invent yourself, be in todays world. keep friends of all ages, young can learn from you. Take care of your health, without that, there's no aging.

I can get away with being bossy (NOT) because I am older, wiser, better-educated, more experienced, and smarter. So there!
