Goshen IN Restaurants

DD (7) & I will be up that way Friday evening for a shape note singing on Saturday. Looking for something to do. Are Amish Acres or Das Dutchman Essenhaus worth it for dinner or is there some little hole in the wall I should aim for instead? (Of course, if you know of a hotel or restaurant shop, I would be most grateful) Thanks for your suggestions!

Can't help you on restaurants, but while in Goshen, make sure you at least drive past the Walmart. It is the only Walmart in the country that has a covered stable area for its Amish customers to park their buggies.

Also, check out the TripAdvisor reviews for restaurants there. It is true about the buggie tie up area.

Yep, zlinedavid is correct about the horse parking at Walmart. I've seen a horse die in that parking area. His owners told the manager it was not their problem and then called someone to pick them up (in a car????) and left the horse lying there in the parking lot.

Check out ICCDS they often have easy groceries there if you need a fill in.

I'd kill to have that happen during a shop. The report on that would be Hall of Fame material.

The dead horse in the parking lot was beginning to decompose and attract flies.
