Mystery Shoppers

I joined Mystery Shoppers but refuse to pay a monthly fee . I get lot's of offers but because I have not paid to be a Gold member I can't get the job. I did however receive a job for Baskin Robins that would pay 6.00 dollars for the job. I had to take a test on the whole store from inside & the Drive thru and needed a stop whatch and this and that. I took the test and printed all thisstuff out and I think I was at the computer for 3 hours taking these test and still didn't finish. I did not know how much longet it would go on and I thought well for 6.00 dollars screw it!!!!! I did not complete it. I received another E-M saying how desperate they are and they will pay me 18.00 dollars plus the 6.00 purchase . I don't think it is right and I say go blow.

They should let you know how long you need to spend on the computer and pay you for that wasted amount of time.
I work for NARMS you don't pay them a thing and they get you jobs and you get to keep the appliance if that is what you are Demistrating.

Good LUck People!!!

I know what you mean short, some of the training is time intense. But in all fairness to the people was are reporting on and evaluating, we should be properly trained. The company does not know that unless we are able to pass a test, involving the information we are supposed to know. It took me many tries to pass a donut shop test, I was almost ready to give up as well. I was ready to tell them to take their fartachinos and bakery products and put em where the dumpster enclosure doesn't reach. I didnt, and have made a lot of money on this chain of donut stores. So sometimes its worth it. A year ago I was pretty new to all of this, and screwed up some shops and didnt get paid. If you shop for the same company you get into the groove, give it a chance short. No the pay isn't great, but once you get comfortable you can always be selective. I bought my stopwatch for 6.99 and have used it at least 100 times. So that expence was absorbed.
Like anything short, once you get used to it and know what you are doing, it becomes second nature. I say give it a shot, you may just find you enjoy it, I know I do.
I have been Mystery Shopping for a long time. I have found that any company that asks for a fee of any kind is not a legimate company most of the time. I got started without paying any company any money at all. A couple of good websites to go to are volition.com and [www.mysteryshop.org]. They are a good start of finding legimate companies. Most shops I do pay from $20 -$30. You just have to keep looking at every legimate companies until shops come up that pay more. There are other sites that will give you lists of shopping companies. Once you look at the two sites above you will learn where to find good companies. I have a list of at least 50 companies that I shop for. Not all of them at once but as they list jobs that pay good. I make a good income each month. It is from several companies. If you would really like to Mystery Shop make sure to go to those to sites and any other directories you can find that list shopping companies and don't pay any of them to shop for them. It isn't necessary.
I am curious as to the company's name who makes you take a test about the location you are going to do a shop at--before you do the job! If you would/could let us know, I am sure that there are alot of us who would like to avoid that company, and the misery!...A THREE HOUR TEST???
This is my first time on this site and I had to reply to this thread. I also use the company that makes you get certified for the MS you will be doing. Never have I spent even close to three hours on an exam. You simply read the modules and take the test when you are ready. Most of it is common sense and instructions on how to complete the shop. They even require a monthly refresher as the scenario changes often. Once you do a number of shops, you get more e-mails and higher paying assignments. It works very well for me........I do not mind if all of you bad mouth it, more jobs for me!!!!!!!!! Thanks for listening.
If you want to be a mystery shoppeer you have to take the good with the bad. All of us have done jobs for a piddly sum, and we have turned up our noses at piddly offerings only to have them come back and offer a lot more because tehy are desperate to get the job done. This is the waay a free econmy works. You pay what the market will bear to get the job done. If you don't get it done for that sum then you offer more and more until you find an amount that will get domeone to do the job. Isn't that what salaried positions do? Instead of complaining and then refusing to do a job because you were offended by the original offer, jump in there when it reaches a level where it isn't insulting. This will allow them to find out what a fair price is and not lowball every offer.
shorttrippe, I do not blame you for telling them to go blow. You don't have to pay for Mystery Shopping Companies. Shadow Shopper is good for charging people like they are the only Mystery Shopping Company on the Internet. They are so wrong. Something really needs to be done about them and I ran across some other Company like that yesterday charging for Mystery Shopping Companies and these were expensive more than that Shadow Shopper. I just clicked off and I don't want them ever to put an advertisement on my computer. I understand about all of the test also because I have gone through that it looks like it is no end. You could spend eight or Moore hours doing those test and your day is gone. I had a couple that I just said forget about it, it is not worth all of that believe me.
