I tried all those surveys during Christmas vacation one time. I made some points but I didn't make any money. I was doing it like a business during that time. I can't see any value at all in doing surveys. They were always wanting me to buy something before I could get out of the computerized survey.
At the malls, the marketing research companies have surveys. Their (poorly paid) workers are under great pressure to find people for their demographics. It is a dollar here or there. I think when I worked for one, the largest amount we had to pay someone was $30, and that was unusual (demographics hard to meet). I've done surveys at malls for $2-10. The companies keep you on their record, and some of them call to ask you to come in if you meet their requirements for the day. If you are going to be at that mall anyway, why not try one? It'll pay for the day's snack. (LOL)
