Who leaves batteries in their glove compartment?

I've seen members here mentioning about having spares in case their camera croaks...remember? tongue sticking out smiley
I always travel with spare batteries. I have a little case that holds the camera, accessories and extra batteries. It doesn't get left in my car.

I was at Wallyworld, and in the arts and crafts section they had this little black carrier thing to hold scrapbooking supplies. It has sections in the middle, and little zipper compartments around the side. I have space for my cameras (2), a drink, my tablet, my phone, my backup wallet (in case I need spare credit cards to swipe at the pump), my voice recorder, and in the zippers on the sides I keep batteries, usb and charging cables, my stop watch, my hair ties, a couple cigars and a lighter, and a spare set of sunglasses. Oh, and my clipboard fits right in the middle of it all. It has two floppy handles, and I carry the whole thing in and out every day, and everything is right there when I need it.

Just a tip...do NOT buy batteries from .99 or the dollar store. Better batteries take better pictures, I found that out the hard way.

Jon, thanks for the tip on the carrier from the crafts section at Wallyworld. I'll check it out. My sis-in-law gave me a neat little carrier at Christmas that is Husky brand, my brother said she got it at the Home Depot or Lowes, probably Home Depot. It's a little black fabric covered box that holds it shape and has a basket type handle. All around the outside edge it has small pockets. It is absolutely great in the front passenger seat for all my miscellaneous flotsam. Recommend it and I may buy another one. Really really handy.

Sounds interesting. I need something like your black box to hold all my stuff and is easy to tote around. Jon's Wallyworld find sounds interesting as well.

I stick with the Energizer Lithium with the blue labels. They cost about $2 per battery at Dollar General, but I usually get about a month out of a full set of four, shooting 20+ gas stations a week. I always keep a spare set though, because when they go dead, you get no warning. My battery meter on my camera read full, and three shots later it said not enough power to take the photo.

My rechargeable batteries have been the best investment. My charger was almost free because of rewards earned through Best Buy. I have probably been using the same half dozen batteries for around three years.

I use rechargeable batteries in my camera. I believe I've bought replacements three times since 2009. I specialize in convenience stores so that's a lot of pictures. I use Duracell and Energizer brands.

Same as you, Mary. Duracells bought about 4 yrs ago but it's time to buy new ones, I think.

I always bring an extra set with me, in case. You know.. smiling smiley
