Need a laptop?

I have spent a little time today looking at a laptop deal that Walmart will be offering Friday morning starting at 8AM. It looks like a pretty decent deal and I thought I would mention it if any of you are in the market for a laptop.

A Celeron Processor like this machine will come with is not a huge powerful processor and it is a single core rather than a dual core so if you do extensive multi-tasking on your laptop or do heavy gaming, this is probably not the machine for you. But it is fast at 2.2GHz. The machine has a reasonable amount of memory at 3GB (expandable to 4GB but with the Win 7 operating system you probably won't need to expand it). 250GB hard drive is quite reasonable, even if you save every job and every photo etc.

We are using Win 7 on one machine here at the house and it has allowed us to install a lot of the old software that we used under Windows 98 and XP, stuff you could NOT install on Vista. So far we are liking Win 7 pretty well.

So for right at $300, this should be a pretty good workhorse machine for mystery shopping.

Correction-it is Saturday. 10 or more units per store, in-store only. :-) You can see it on their website.

I had seen it early this week as their early BF sales on Saturday at 8; they have a 42" TV I wanted and some other stuff in addition to this PC you mentioned (but my husband said no, so.....) After I saw your post, I went looking for a Friday sale this week, but could not find it. But I still kept seeing the Friday at 8, 10 items per store on their site and another deal-saver site.

Some of their stuff seems a bit bizarre. They did get their act together quickly on bananas at 39 per pound as their new corporate price. This was highly touted and is supposed to be nationwide. The signs went up fast at my Wallyworld and have stayed up. The other day they started frozen turkeys at 40 cents a pound. Got to the store and a pretty much unknown brand is at that price (fixed a small one last night and it is excellent), with a different brand at 60 cents and Butterballs at 80 cents per pound. Then there was a tout of 'all small turkeys for $5'. I haven't been back in to see if that means that Butterball 10-12 pounders are now $5. But the signage for the turkeys when I was there was small and just over the freezer bins so most shoppers were not aware of it.
We don't have a Walmart Superstore in HI, so we don't get the food specials. I am sure if they did, they would say, "$1 more in AK and HI." :-)

Like mostly everything here. But at least we don't have to pay any heating bills. :-) Or suffer the cold winter. :-)
