Generally they give you instructions as to how they want it done. In absence of instructions I generally do a right click/select all/right click/copy then open a Word document and push the margins to .3 all around the page, right click and paste. I also have the option with my software installations to print to pdf.
Here's another way:
-Press the Print Screen key on your keyboard. It may be labeled [PrtScn].
-Open an image editing program, such as Microsoft Paint.
-Go to the Edit menu and choose Paste.
-If prompted to enlarge the image, choose Yes.
-Optional: Use your image editor's crop tool to crop out unnecessary portions of the screen shot.
-Go to the File Menu and choose Save As.
-Navigate to the folder where you want to save the image.
-Type a file name for the image.
-Select a file type.
-Click the Save button.

Tips:
Hold the Alt key down while pressing Print Screen to capture only the active window.

Generally the GIF format works best when saving screen shots of application windows. The JPEG format usually makes screen shots (especially those with text) blurry, blotchy and discolored.

If you have windows Vista, you can capture screen shots much more easily using the Snipping Tool included with Vista.

Also for Macs; If you use Shift-Apple-4, you can then select a box on the screen that it will take a picture of.

That way, you can leave stuff out of the shot you don't want to send.

Learn something new every day! I'm not a keyboard shortcut person, per se, so I wouldn't have know that particular set of commands, but Grab also also options such as this. I am guessing this shortcut opens Grab to screen select mode?

The command is part of the mac system.

Shift-Apple-3 will grab the entire screen.

Both commands will place the pic on your desktop.
Cool. Just tried it out. Thank you!

Be careful about what you are sending..... shopping companies asking for a screen shot is rare....
They are rather rare. I had two different MSPs asking for them as part of shops I did for them this past year. Both companies were completely legit. The requirements made sense in the context of the rest of the shops and the screen shots did not compromise any personal information, identity, etc. But it does make sense to use good judgment about this as with anything else.
