Corporate's changes may have different results in different markets. Will some franchisees effortlessly fare better than others in this time of major change at McDonalds?

I would be surprised if they are facing their final days, but they are losing a share of their customers. If they don't make some changes and adapt, they will continue to lose some customers, but I don't see them any where near going out of business.
It could perhaps be a bigger deal than some would believe though.

Too many menu items. They need to just stick with burgers and fries. It doesn't help that their burgers taste like sawdust.
I agree with b this could be a bigger deal than what we see at first glance. They have to sell X dollars to reach breakeven and they don't begin to show a profit until they get beyond breakeven. This is no profit at all on whatever they sell until they reach breakeven. The breakeven point stays the same because it is made up primarily of fixed expenses. The less they sell, the more they slide backward toward the breakeven point. They cannot reduce personnel enough to offset lost business because then they could not provide customer service. If they reach breakeven going backwards they may as well turn off the lights.

I mean from a MS standpoint it may be a bigger deal than some think.

If they weren't doing well, they wouldn't be doing mystery shopping as much as they do. Now there are at least 3 companies that shop the golden arches.
That is correct.

That would be great but prolly not included in the items we can chose from to do the shop. I love sweet potato fries!

Yep. In my area of south TX, the availability of their shops has been noticeably thinning out over the past few months. It was one of my MS'ing mainstays for 10+ years, so I've really started to feel the lack of them.
That is because they subbed your area out to another msc.

They will start thinking out soon though.

Serving breakfast all day is a major change for them, something they had been against for so many years. Is it working out for them or is it too early to tell?
Just a personal comment on the McD's new all day breakfast. I went there yesterday and found the selection too limited for my taste. Big problem: No biscuits, which is why I go there for breakfast. So for me, no, it doesn't work at all.

The menu varies by location/franchise. The ones in my area do serve biscuits, along with hot cakes, mcmuffins, etc.
