If you pay an electric bill, go on your power company's website and request an Energy Audit. An engineer will come out to your house and install energy saving measures to reduce your electric bill. This can be done whether you rent or own.
I had one done after I bought my house in 2018. They switched out my light bulbs to low wattage, wrapped my water heater and provided me with smart plugs and strips. It was well worth it and free!
