Some people are beginning a three-day weekend for Columbus Day. Does anyone get the day off for Indigenous People's Day? Are there events planned in your area? Do tell...

It's Thanksgiving in Canada, this weekend.

Also, we have Truth and Reconciliation day on September 3O. The Schools, banks, etc. were closed. I don't know if any shops closed.

And we have National Indigenous Peoples Day, on June 21. It's only a holiday in the Yukon and Northwest Territories. An observance everywhere else.

Teaching kids to count is fine, but teaching kids what counts is best.

Our kids' district had neither day off (Monday)

The school where I work never gave federal holiday Columbus Day off, but as of last year began recognizing Indigenous People's Day.

Research the things the Comanche did to babies.
