worst shoping experience

Several years I did a restaurant shop in a town about 50 miles away from home. As I entered the location, the first thing I noticed was how dirty everything looked. You could barley see out of the windows because they had not been washed in a very long time. After seating myself, I waited and waited for someone to approach my table. Finally after waiting for 23 minutes, a waitress came over to my table and threw a menu down in front of me. She did not offer to get me anything to drink or mention anything on the menu. I then waited another 13 minutes for her to return. After ordering my meal, I was informed that they were out of the item that I had ordered. Once again I ordered only to find out that that item was also unavailable. Finally I was able to order a sandwich and coffee. I never did get a second cup of coffee. The bathroom was so bad that I went next door to the gas station to wash my hands. No I did not eat the sandwich or drink the coffee. I think the coffee had been sitting on the burner since the restaurant first opened in the morning.

Nothing like deep brown, thick coffee you can eat with a spoon! Yum!! Was this a chain restaurant?

I did a retail store where the stock was in total disarray. None of the clerks offered to help any customers, but 2 were on their cell phones and some were socializing. Some of the aisles were blocked with unshelved stock. There was a video camera watching everyone, but I guess no one cared. There were ladders stored in the restroom, hazardous if you go in with kids.
Funny that I have repressed memories of some really bad shops. About the worst was an oil change at a dealership that took the better part of a day. And since I was without wheels and the car was going to be ready "in a few minutes" all day, I was trapped in a hot waiting room for hours with whining kids and snappish parents who were similarly stuck, with music I found nauseous too loud for the duration. Every so often I would step outside just to get away from the noise, but there was nowhere outside to sit and the day was blisteringly hot. Bathrooms were ok but the music was (if humanly possible) even louder in there and reverberated off the tile.
I got someone fired on the spot during a revealed shop. sad smiley They didn't ask me for my ID when I ordered alcohol.
I went to a truck stop restaurant and I got sick from something they served. I mean, the kind of sick where you put food in your mouth and can't swallow it.

The milk and sour cream went bad. :-p

A mger with a little more couth wouldn't have done it in front of a customer. You must have been so embarrassed.
Yes, I felt bad. And the MSP wants me to go back!!

I did a shop and the employee I happened to ask for help could not stop talking. He/she bad mouthed their employer very badly. I attempted to get him/her back on a positive note, but they in turn kept on and on. I ended up reporting all that was sad. I do not know what happened to that employee, but I believe he/she was not around long. That was a no-no. When he/she talked to me, they just did not know who I was and why I was there. I felt bad for the employee, because he/she did not have a clue that you do not bite the hand that feeds you.
This was not a shopping job, but a real-life experience. I was at the cashier at Trader Joe's, and he said "Yuch, you don't want to buy those; they're awful." I explained that I liked them, he insisted I shouldn't be getting them. "I'm just trying to help my customers." I told him he was out of line. Never saw him there again.
My worst was a personal shopping experience too....I know Xmas makes everyone a little nuts but this was the worst....

I visited the store on December 4, 2007. Horatio, the Assistant Manager, was in a confrontation with a customer exchanging profanities at the entrance 6:30 p.m. Then upon my checkout 8:30 p.m. a tag fell off during bagging. I asked the cashier to reattach so no problems came up during return. No one could locate the tagging gun. Horatio, the assistant manager, was called up front but refused to help her. He got on a register and started checking out others. He refused to assist the team member, Laurette, even after she addressed him. He ignored her at first, and then began yelling at her that it was her problem. She then had to go to the back of the store and locate the gun herself. She left her line to assist the customer. The store had a line of about 25 people with only 2 cashiers. I tried to address the manager but he just ignored me too. I didn't go back in for about 4 months; but he wasn't there.

Shop til I drop
I did an apartment shop and the person I was shopping was much too busy entertaining the maintenance man to have anything to do with me. :-)

She hurried me out of the office and refused to show me an apartment or take me on the tour.

She had no clue she was being shopped.

I suspect she isn't the apartment manager of the conplex anymore.
Worst experience: I stupidly shopped my own branch of my bank, and 3 weeks later the rep recognized me when I went in. Because they're too cheap to get enough help there, she was helping out behind the teller window. I've been banned from shopping all 9,600 branches of the bank.

Even worse, I went into my bank last week with a problem and I had to be helped by this same unctuous woman.
I shopped a business. I asked a question about a product. The young man told me and then started talking about his/her manager. He/she bad mouthed the manager really bad. I attempted several times to get him/her back on a positive note, but they kept on not knowing who I was. So I did report it on my report unfortunately.
