tax 2024

I recently got unexpected check from IRS. about few hundreds $$. Actualy I owe them about $20. I send them a check and they cashed it. I tried to call them but couldnot get to live person.

I checked the legidimacy of check by Treasury Check Verification System.
[tcvs.fiscal.treasury.gov]
The check is valid. But question persists: what I did wrong in my taxes. I did not get any letter of explanation.

Someone at the IRS assumes you are an illegal immigrant. Your next vote is attempted at being paid.
Not to worry though, this rogue IRS individual is already identified as being on the "separation" list. smiling smiley

IRS checks don't come with letters in the envelopes. EVERY time I've received a treasury check it was in a separate envelope from the letter that explains why I'm receiving it. But more times than not the letter comes before the check, though I have definitely gotten letters after I received the funds.

the check was issued on 06/30/2025. I got it prior holiday. Did not get a letter of explanation yet. I bet I will get letter after 7/21/2025.
