Puns, Fun, Humor, Acts of Kindness, and other Positivity…

I appreciate all of you and this forum for many reasons including its variety wisdom, perspectives, and humor.

Life is too serious. This thread is for fun posts around humorous verbiage, professional insider abbreviations, encounters in the field, silly shopper trivia, the best food gigs, and stories about kindnesses we offer and encounter in this work, being sure follow rules of no direct mentions.

For example: “The Otter Guys, “ G-spot,” “Ooopsies,” and “Coniferous Hospitality.” Share a situation when someone you evaluated did something adorably human, kind, and real, a shout-out to a fabulous scheduler (in code of course “to protect the innocent”), keeping it clean enough not to offend, of course.

Schedulers and others invited, but no trolls allowed.

Hi, terrys! And, welcome to the forum!

You are in the General Chat portion of the larger forum. This is for everything except business.

For a more businesslike point of view, may I suggest the Mystery Shop and Mystery Shop Company sections? They are devoted to the business of mystery shopping. There are additional sections- for merchandising, job announcements, and new shoppers.

Good luck!

I’ll start with a verbiage one. I’ve referred to the group as hags, fraus and grouses with little to no consequence. Although not all may appreciate this, I’m entertained.
Not all get the references though, which could be the reason for the lack of blowback.
Ex. ‘Check your email hags!’ Response: ‘I don’t know what an email hag is but…’ lol.
"Let's eat Grandpa!"
"Let's eat, Grandpa!"

I’m lost already. Pls fill us in. Re cake quote: wouldn’t it be stale by then, even when frozen?

This rich cake matures for three months. It receives the first pour of brandy after it cools. During the next three months, the cake is well wrapped but receives the occasional drizzle of brandy. It is ready in time for "winter" or "year end" holidays.

The other is somewhat snarky. I do not care if you think I am a hag. I am not an e-mail hag. I am a somewhat modest hag. There is a comma between us!

Well, not in this case, but point taken. I would think ‘thrifty’ would work as well. I like to think I’m a humorous hag, but this thread proved me wrong. ‘Let’s eat grandpa’ is the clear winner, with no comma required.
SBP, I see I am 6 months late in welcoming you to the forum.
I didn't see your introduction post. You sound like a shopping veteran.

I enjoy your posts Barefoot, and your username speaks to my soul.

I've been evaluating customer service in this and other venues for quite a while in various demographics. Also write, edit, and worked in other complicated creative industries and non profits as an IC.

In this capacity I get to choose my projects, ethics, and have seen a lot over time that I still see happening in this population.

I've also been an advocate for many who need a voice. It's been very rewarding. It can also make one a target, as some of us have discovered. I'd rather be remembered for being honest to help others avoid painful and expensive experiences than the alternative in this very interesting world.

Being an IC can be liberating and very challenging. We need safe space to uplift support one another. I'm very much appreciating the community here, the wisdom and good will shared, and the good people working cooperatively on our behalf for everyone's benefit.
