Words of wisdom from Mom.....

My mother phrased some of her words of wisdom in a delightful way. I was recently reminded of some of them.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. You'll just get frustrated because pigs can't sing.

Never "wrastle" with a pig. You both get dirty and the pig likes it!

Regarding gambling....
Never bet more than you can afford to lose.

Never try to fill an inside straight.

Regarding someone who always says "I didn't mean to!"....
You didn't mean not to!

Got any goodies from your "Mom"?

"Kids go play outside for 3 hours! I AM PAINTING!"

"Don't you DARE mess with my family!" not to me but to people who didnt treat us right.

"Never be afraid to stand up for yourself."

"You have a problem at school and I will take care of it!"

"When I said the TV was broken and threw it out when you were 5 Tom I lied. I just got sick of seeing what was on TV." (i think i was 15 when she told me this...Never had one until i got one when i was 21 and i believe it was the 2nd best decision she ever made after raising me and my bros in church...and should i have kids i will do the same.)

"Tom you can do anything you want. I support you."

Love you mommy!

When we had boy problems, my Mother's phrase was, "Don't worry, another bus is right behind" or "Be true to yourself", and the good ole, "You can't judge a book by it's cover", and then the always, "Everything will be alright".

Live consciously....
"Eat your supper! There are kids starving in India for what you have!!!"

Shopping Bama and parts of Georgia.
I'm still learning 24/7.
Yeah, only the starving kids were in China. And I had to clean my plate. By the time I graduated high school I'd cleaned my way to 310 pounds because of those starving kids. Now I send the money to missions and have gotten down to 212 as of last Weight Watcher's meeting! Mom's not always right, lol

Not my Mom, but my Grandmother (who lived with us), used to bring peanut butter and jelly sandwichs to school (playground), and stay till I finished. I was thin and didn't eat much, she would always say, what about the poor children in Europe, eat Momala eat!!!

Live consciously....

One I find myself repeating to my grandchildren....

It's easier to keep up than clean up!

Yesterday my granddaughter ran in after school and said, "Grandma! I keeped up! Now I only have homework to do and noooooooo chores!"

lolol
