Corporate Research International.

Anyone ever done any work for them? I have signed up and there is extensive testing required. They pay better than most companies here(I'm in Montana) but are more involved. I'm worried that if I go out of my way to do the shop that they may reject it as it is a lot more extensive then other companies. Plus I have to take a course and extensive test for each assignment type.(which is fine but time consuming).

Great to get any feedback.

Hi kmi,

In my experience Corporate Research International (CRI) is a very ... comprehensive company. Recently, I completed a major hardware store shop. It was one of the most intensive ones of my mystery shopping experience. Not hard, just extensive.

CRI has set up sort of a "university" feel to their training and testing. Don't let it scare you. There are times that the presentations (in a Power Point type design) are long, boring, and so detailed you think you'll never be able to remember it all, but you take the test, realize what it is that they're looking for and hopefully, feel a little better about it.

The major hardware store shop was my first for CRI, so I'm not familiar with their payment returns, but they've been around for quite some time, so they're definitely not fly by night. =)

I relied upon the checklist, the guidelines and the presentation for the shop I did and I received the highest rating they had to give. Not tooting my horn, just saying that it's possible to complete shops without incident. =D

I hope this helps!
Thanks, that's the impression I got. They have quite a few shops available here(seems no one else has discovered them or they don't want to do the more comprehensive shops). I've done the university and qualified for some shops already. I just get worried about being paid. lol
They pay every two weeks. Payment is never a problem with CORI. Squeezing them for a few extra dollars is!...winking smiley

I find them the lowest paying ever, and the watching and waiting until a shop go's up from 3.00 to 5, then to 11 is crazy...yes, they have many shops, but my opinion, too many useles emails, to much searching for a job, just too involved. They pay quickly, and have jobs in your area, it's all your choice.
I prefer companies that don't BS, tell you up front what they pay, enough with the tests for everything and are just straightforward, and I have found plenty.

Live consciously....
I do so many shops for them! They pay quickly and always pay what they owe you. Easy shops and great web site. They have a good choice of shops in my area too!
Really? they pay around $15 each shop here..maybe because there are less people doing the shops here.

I live in L.A., with tons of shoppers, so bonus is nowhere near what I read on this forum. Shops are grabbed up at $5.00 here, guess it's all about location.

Live consciously....
I don't know if they pay the same all over but in my area of PA, I would have to be a fool to take a job from them. They pay 3 or 5 dollars, which is like half of what my gas would cost both ways, then you have to stay in the store about 45 minutes and answer a survey almost as long as War and Peace. Not even close to worth it.
Well way back when I would look at their training and the beginning amounts of pay and just click onto a different page...no way.

And then my husband lost his job and I started looking at companies again and discovered this one starts out at ridiculous low amounts and builds the bonuses (albeit in an odd fashion). Some months shops sit there forever without a bonus and other months the higher bonuses are there before the month starts (no rhyme or reason).

I find it is definitely worthwhile to get on their email list as overnight they send out which shops have had their commissions increased.

I would have to disagree about the complexity of the shops. I find them super simple. They really want very little narrative (often cutting you off and making you shorten them to input) and I have never gotten anything but a 5.

I have had one problem with them and it was resolved. Several years ago I did a gas station where you had to take a picture of the bathroom inside. I did and was immediately told my shop was falsified because my picture did not match the picture of the whoever did the shop the last time. I WAS FURIOUS! I absolutely did the correct shop (had pictures of the address!), every other picture was fine, etc. I suggested that the last person falsified their report. It was obvious this bathroom hadn't been remodeled in 30 years so I don't think that was the issue! There was some going back and forth but I refused to back down and essentially told them to call the gas station and have them describe the bathroom and all of a sudden it was ok. The shop was paying 30 something and I was not going to take a loss on it!

Anyway I have been doing a number of the hardware shops, discount stores etc and have been very pleased with the ease of the shops and the payment (I wait until I am willing to do the shop price wise).

Oh...but the tests...yeah they are bad and they need a new test writer.

I did not know they had a test writer. I thought they had a caged chimp with a crayola!...:p

Well, I have to bit my tongue as I just saw a job for 50.00. I quickly took test, and applied to find it taken.....so, I guess it does happen here, hoping
I can find one again.

Live consciously....
I have been doing shops for them for about 2 years. They do require a lot of testing - but each type of shop only once. The fees are listed starting at the first of the month with low fees, as the month progresses the fee goes up - how much depends on where the shop is - how many shoppers have accepted it before - whether it's sooner or later in the month.

If you fail to complete a shop and do not give at least 24 hours notice & you must talk with the scheduler in order to not lose points. You start out with 3.0 points it goes up with each completed shop you do & goes down when you don't complete a shop.

I only do their bank shops as they pay well. Their other shops start out with low payments and are usually accepted by another shopper before the fee is high enough for me to do it.

I made over $100 in fees and $60 in free clothes for my kids doing 4 shops last week. I am a happy girl smiling smiley
Has anyone had CRI taken away the FIND JOBS OPTION when you are at your limit of jobs? I have 12 jobs to do and can not get into the system to look for jobs for the weekend. This never used to happen. Any ideas? Talking to a scheduler there is like talking to a dreaded high school teacher. Some are down right mean.
The scheduler's there are usually nice and available during their business hours so it's a surprise to hear you had problems. I've had as many as 25 plus jobs scheduled without a problem.

I keep adding jobs to my "cart" and they disappear? But then reappear on the available jobs list???
I figured out that I had to re-sign the new new Contract with them before I could add anymore jobs. I hope the new clause stating they can take up to 30 days to pay is not going to happen.

Try re-signing your contractor agreement on the home page. Scroll down to the page that needs your required e-signature.

Ah, that did it. I was wondering why my "find jobs" link had disappeared. Turns out they updated their ICA again. Re-signing the agreement brought my link right back. Whew!

Thanks for the tip!
They now didn't like the estimate I uploaded, but I see it clearly, and that is what I got from the framing store, they have gotten to my last nerve, re-loaded, now what?

Contact your scheduler for this shop. Sometimes they can intervene on your behalf if the auditor is being hard headed.
They pay very well.. no worries about that

OMG! I had never heard of CoRI until I heard people raving about it on this forum. I have my go-to companies, but I figured I would give this one a try. Wowzers! After I signed up, I think my heart was doing back flips at the numerous shops in my area, but oh what a tangled web they weave when mystery shopping companies choose to deceive. I fell out of love REAL QUICK! First off, they hide the pay until you take their EXTENSIVE tests. FINE, I'm a student of your mystery shopping company....whatever, yada yada yada....but then after wasting my valuable time, you want to pay me $3.00 to go to a location and interact with how many employees for 3 bucks? Shut the front door! Absolutely not. I got an email today saying bonuses were added and some shops went up to $11 and even $16, but it's gonna take more than that to get me to do a CoRI shop. Salute!

HaHa! So true.
It all depends on your location. I live in an area with not too many shoppers. I have had shops pay $50 each. Mostly gas station/convenience store combo's. Today I am doing 8 at $23 each. Yes, I will drive 120 miles round trip, but I just take an extra shop to pay for all the fuel. You have to wait them out. The bonuses do go up provided you do not have shoppers in your area who are scooping them up at $3-4.

I love CoRI. Get great things when I shop for them, stuff I need so I figure a little bit of my time in exchange for cheap stuff (or sometimes even them paying me a little extra for my stuff that I buy) is worth it. LOVE them!!
I have shopped for them forabout 2 years. I did five shops last summer that paid me $21-$25 each. Now someone else is taking them at $6-$9 each every month. It is not worth starting my car for $6.
