Famous "Texas Steakhouse" shoppers video...

Today, after accepting a famous steakhouse shop, there was a video to watch (required)....

I thought it was pretty neat. Although I have done 5 of those for this client, it was neat to watch the video and learn the "do's" and "dont's"

One thing I found interesting was: It said, "Don't order dessert." It went on to say most bar patrons don't order dessert when they sit belly up at the bar for dinner...

Another thing it said was to not order certain foods because you want to blend in with the bar patrons and not draw attention to yourself...by ordering things that most bar patrons don't...

It's brand new. I just saw it today.
@ Sunny -

Thanks for posting this! I almost forgot I had to review the video before my shop on Friday.

I cannot believe I was FINALLY awarded one of these shops though - I've been trying to pick one up for months. Someone suggested to me to politely ask if I could try one, and that's what happened.

Haha stalling here - just came back from one and need to input. Mine was the dining room shop though and the video is different.

Aha! I haven't seen that one....just the belly up to the bar one...

I guess if I ever get picked for that one ..

What kinds of tips were suggested on the table seating in the dining room?
These are some of my favorite shops around!

I have one the 14th-16th of this month, so I'm excited about the video! Yeehaw! =DD (Hey, if the waitresses/waiters can line dance, I can Yeehaw! =D)
Yeeeeehaw! I love these shops smiling smiley Too bad about the 90 day rotation though sad smiley I'd do them every month if I could

Nothing huge stood out except for ideas to figure out who is a manager...appears that is a big problem and I always have trouble finding one. I have NEVER had one come to my table and despite walking around and through the restaurant I rarely see one. We finally spotted one tonight on the way out ... we think.

We have never seen line dancing either. And we always stay over an hour.

Ditto! I have never seen line dancing either...

As for the Manager, anyone who walks over to you, asking how everything is going (and is not your server) is usually a Manager. They stop to take the time to ask you how you are doing? I have had as many as 3 of them approach me during that hour...

And they dress normal like the video says. Nothing fancy which makes it a little confusing...
This is one of my favorites. I wish there were enough locations around me to do one a month. Couting down til May when I will be eligible again.

I have never ever had anyone walk over to my table aside from the server...ever. The one I identified last night looked exactly the same as the others except he had a logo polo on with a tshirt underneath and that stood out as every other one had just the plain (well company logo) t shirt. He also seemed to be telling some other employees what to do as I heard him giving some types of directions.

I meant to hit "quote" and I hit "like" your post...

I have only done the belly up to the bar shops and have always been talked to by managers who a (few) gave me one of those free appetizer cards. (not sure if I am allowed to use it or not) for now it stays in my wallet...

Like the training video says, it's usually anyone other than your server that stops by your table or in my case, up to the bar.
Hey there, Sunny!

You can definitely use that card. Not on a shop, but if you get back to our favorite Texas Steakhouse, you can definitely use the card!! =D
It says : Appetizer on us! Enjoy a Baby Blossom, Fried Pickles (yummmmmy) Rattlesnake Bites, Cheese Fries or Tator Skins...I neeeeed to use this card.....hehe...

lol! I can mail you some cheese fries! smiling smiley
When I watched the video before my last one, it says you *Must order one of the hand cut steaks from the case. The other food requirement was the Chicken critters (appetizer or meal). Imagine how much that stood out when we asked for the appetizer and were told it is no longer on the menu....

I don't think that really makes you stand out - I mean menus change all the time and people have their favorites or thing that people recommend to them.

Meanwhile despite the responses that say a manager is ANYONE who stops by my table aside from the server I stand by my fact that I have NEVER had anyone other than my server stop by my table. Maybe other stores but not at the one I frequent.

In South Carolina, ALL my restaurants had Managers that stopped by my bar side....
