This forum should start a do not shop list, so new shoppers can avoid headches. Just an idea.

But everyone's do not shop list is different.

Liz
It could be a little more organized. Such as non-paying companies. I know that some companies have no-shop list against shoppers, why not do the same.
Liz -- There seems to be a couple that are on a majority of shoppers' lists because of non-payment and other issues.
It's still too subjective. Is Franchise Compliance a paying company or not? It seems like some people get paid at times.

You can make a category of "Not paying within the stated guidelines" but I know plenty of shoppers that will keep working for Freeman because they feel a free hotel stay after waiting 6 months is better than nothing.

I think it's up to each shopper to read up on the companies they want to work for and make their own decisions if it's worth it or not.
I don't think telling others what to do is a great idea. And I agree, such a list is subjective. There's another thread. A few shoppers hate them. I love them. Not going to debate that here....just saying.

However, giving the facts is something else.

Did a shop for XYZ company on DATE. Did not get paid because they pulled the shop 3 hours after I completed it.

Did a shop for XYZ company on DATE. Did not get paid for X months. Had to make X phone calls and/or send X emails.

Did a shop for XYZ company. Editor asked me X questions, all of which were answered. Still got dings $X.

Etc.

If a few shoppers say they were not paid because....maybe it is the shopper.

If enough shoppers say they were not paid because...maybe it is the MSC and other shoppers should beware.

Just a couple though and it seems as if those are widely known. The slow pays still have many who will shop for them because well they do pay and they are a useful reimbursement.

The cranky schedulers/owner experiences seem to vary according to shopper..one will come in with a company for that list and the next post will be Sally Scheduler has been nothing but super helpful to me.

Read through this forum, you'll find the ones to stay away from...we report them as they don't pay. Seek and thou shall find.

Live consciously....
I agree Irene_LA

But often these tales of woe are often very subjective and subject to a modicum of skepticism. I find myself weeding through the complaints, sometimes (SOMETIMES) questioning their validity. I usually see the situation from the shopper's point of view, but not always.

Just saying.
I know bur it would be nice to have an official list. We have one for the good, why not the bad? smiling smiley
Everyone has a different no shop list. I won't shop for marketforce(and generally cori), or any other company they buy each year.

Where is that 'good' list? I need to see it!
I didn't think there was a "good" list. The master list is just a list of MSCs...good, bad, out of business, etc.

Shop2LiveinFl -- However, if you go to the "new" list, you'll see a listing of discussions listed that you can access. So, you can see comments good, bad and indifferent.
avitoots ~ I know. I do my research BEFORE applying to new MSCs. My earlier response was in general. Good and bad are so subjective that I believe people need to do their own research and then make an informed decision that is best for them.

I have seen negative comments about a MSC that treats me great, pays on time and keeps me very busy. On the other hand, I have had a bad experience with another MSC that others have raved about. Similar to some shoppers loving the FF shops while others prefer fine dining. That is why I really enjoy MS'ing. Enough variety to make almost everyone happy. :-)

Lists are always proposed and the bottom line is there are too many reasons why shoppers shop which creates way too many perspectives. People have different feelings about the companies and widely varying opinions about the specific shops depending on their own needs. I would not touch a shipping shop if my life depended on it, but many find it offsets the cost of something they do on a regular basis. Just for that company alone there are people who love it, hate it, say they don't pay, know they do pay, etc. I agree with jersey that it is much more productive to discuss specifics. When people have issues with those shipping shops I feel for them, but know it doesn't impact me or the way I do business with that company.

The forums remind me of things I was actually taught in grade school. We were required to read to various local newspapers and watch TV news shows to learn how the policy of each impacted the perspective of their reporting. I see no difference here and make it a habit to read as much as possible about a company and draw my own conclusions.

@ LisaSTL, it appears that we were both posting somewhat similar thoughts at the same time. By my posting beat you by one minute! ;-P
