brake video shop

Was it the Midas in DC that told you you needed a lot of repairs? I did that shop and they came up with all kinds of urgent repairs I needed. I knew my brakes were fine. Two days I did another Midas in Maryland and they said my brakes had no problem.

porter,
I cannot name the shop, but it was not in DC. And it was not Midas. This is an industry-wide problem of repair scams. Most state attorneys general actually send out undercover professional investigators to catch this problem. The big companies that franchise out their local operations (Think big tire and oil change operations) are now trying to avoid huge state and federal law suits by trying to catch and stop their franchisees before the whole company gets into huge trouble. Many years ago (decades ago?) Sears lost a ton of $$$ and public trust over just such a successful legal action. We even have new (newish) federal and state regulations thanks to that huge case.
