I haven't done the amusement parks, but I have done some of the mall amusement shops for this MSC.

The amusement parks look like pretty intense shops...if I remember correctly, they give you a total of 5 tickets (2 to get into the park, 3 as reimbusement).

The way I determine how much work a shop is likely to be, is to look at the total payment. In this case, take the value of the tickets, say $30 each, times 5, is $150. They will probably expect you to do $150 worth of work. I believe they want details of interactions with different staff members, park cleanliness, restroom cleanliness, etc. I would not expect a carefree day of fun; I would expect a lot of observations and a lengthy report.

I've done one of their mini golf phone call shops. They were good to work for. Haven't done anything else because nothing they've offered has appealed to me.
TxGuitar -

Yes, I did one of their shops.

Yes, the report IS intense. It's very narrative heavy. I just went through my saved report here's the breakdown:

19 Narratives
Each narrative was a minimum of 250-300 words and 5-7 paragraphs. (yes, I was detailed)**
I had 4 food locations to track down, each of these I had to write *separate* narratives on food and service.
I had staff interactions - and I had to track down staffers (very surprising)

I could only go during certain times, and that part was a bummer. The place was crowded with a lot of kids, which in turn made it difficult to "make my way" to the staffers. Which of course, then I got behind trying to get all of my specific interactions completed.

However, all of that said, I have been trying to get another one to do! I absolutely had a good time, and now that I know "how to" do their reports, I would definitely do another. DH and I spent most of our time trying to get around and find each place for my required interaction, and while we did manage to have a bit of fun, it was just "fun" not "FUN"! LOL!!

Have you done any casinos? I find these reports comparable to the casino shops - with one exception. At least for the casinos, I've been able to have 2 days to complete the reports!!

**PS: I got a 10 on my report, and the scheduler contacted me and asked if she could forward my name to a few other companies due to all of the detail I had written.

FUN is a good thing to shout about! I had fun (small letters) too.
There are several threads about reports for this company so do a search and you will read a lot about it.
I finally have a "plum" assignment with AA to be performed the middle of the month. They're pretty honest about how long the surveys are to input (2 -4 hours). Figure it's definitely worth it! For my sons anyway. smiling smiley

2 to 4 hours to do one report ??? they tell you that ??

I have an assignment but I dont remember seeing anything that says the report will
take 2 - 4 hours ???
I have done some shops for them. Yes, the reports are detailed but you can have some fun..Nice people.
I have done a shop for them, and it paid $75, and my expenses (going all out for my son) were a little over $100. For the four hours of data entry, it was worth it. I'll do it again, but it's not something I'll sign up for every time.

Hey Shopinalong!

Yes, they verbally did. However, the guidelines state, "2 hours to complete report".

SUPER NICE company.
You get used to what they want and the reports are easier to crack out.

I found it to be worth it!
I have done a few shops for them. You really don't make any money and it is a lot of work but the activity is paid for and it gets me to do something I would not do because of the cost. My grandson loved the indoor skydiving.
Be careful with the skydiving...i took my son and he loved it so much he decided to do real skydiving at $200 a jump (each person for a group diving together). Just about the time he was going there were three reports of sky diving deaths within a few weeks....He is over 18 and used his own money so I had no say, althou I did say a lot to him, except I kept my fingers crossed until he came back...He did and fortunately has not gone again. lol
I thought about doing a shop for this company while on vacation, until I looked at the requirements. I did not do the job because I wanted to have fun at the park and did not feel like I would if I had to visit 13 different areas and then fill in a 12 page report!
I have done two shops for them. They don't use Paypal but some other payment company and I have had hassles getting a March Shop (it is now July) into my cheking account.

As far as big amusement parks. I estimated I spent, unreimbursed & out of pocket, about $170 on parking fees, meals, buying an overpriced souvineer, playing one of those carnival games (all called for in the requirements).

My attitude is this is something you might do once a year if that. I would go broke going back month after month doing more assignments for them. Moreover, with the major park I visited my evaluation uncovered so many issues, I am not sure what to do with my three free tickets. I don't want to go back.

I thought I read something about some of the reports taking five to six hours to complete? Or maybe that was another company. I'm here reading up on it because I am considering a zoo shop for them that they need to have done this weekend. It seems slightly less tedious than the amusement park ones (which I've been hesitant to take on), and I figured it would be a good way to get my feet wet. However, I've requested a $20 bonus, so I'm thinking they're going to tell me where to stick it ;-p
So this is not a company that you will make money with? Correct? You just basically get back what you spend on a "fun" day at an outing? Those lengthy reports are scary.

Shopping off and on for 20+ years in NE Arkansas.
I did not do an amusement park, but I did a zoo. It was three of us and we wanted to have a good time. We did not watch what we spent, but we still managed to remain in the flat fee + the gas (we started out as a fun family day, not work).
The report took two days eeeek. We tried to do it the night we came back for the bomus, but we were asked several times to implement our narrative, so we finished it the day after. True, there is a lot to write and they want it rather detailed.

Shopper and auditor since March 2012.
Cover all center/north Oklahoma and south Kansas.
I just did my first shop for them a couple of weeks ago. . . I dove straight in with the amusement park shop. It's detailed and narrative-heavy. That said, it was straight forward and pretty simple. Scheduler was great to work with and I'll certainly look to do again if needed.

I was dreading the grading of my report. I'm happy to say I got a 100!!!!
I love doing their shops. The reports are very long for the big shops and I don't really make any money. It was just a way to go to an event for free. I did make a little money on some of their small amusement shops and those reports are not too bad.
great company to work with--the schedulers are helpful and understanding. the reports are intense but you have lots of time to complete and get a bonus if you get done sooner. I recommend!

I have done multiple shops for this company and they are wonderful to work for...that being said, the narratives are very lengthy and in many cases there is a limited time frame for completing the shop. Depending on the venue, it is important to plan your time well. In a large park it can be challenging to visit multiple food vendors, exhibits, and gift stores in a limited time frame. It is very " doable" but requires concentrated effort.

My advice in completing the shops is to be extremely cognizant of the time frame, arrive at the first available hour, map out the venue, and move quickly if it is a large and dispersed area. Complete the required activities within the time frame you are provided and then relax and enjoy the rest of the day.

The narrative is very lengthy and there is an expectation of a high level of detail in the report. Be prepared to spend a minimum of two hours on the report. I have spent significantly longer as my typing speed is slower than I would like..

It is a great opportunity to splurge however and I and my kids have enjoyed each opportunity. The staff are fantastic to work with and the company has always been prompt in repayment...and I often do some gift shopping at the gift stores for upcoming birthdays!
I have done several amusement parks for them. The narrative is lenghty, but after the first two reports I got the groove and could finish the reports in less than the two hours the instructions suggest.

When I get 5 tickets valued at $150, two hours on a report is well worth it. You can easily get the interactions done and relax or just spread them throughout the day. If you overspend on the food- thats your own fault. When I did these with three kids I would make a minimum purchase at the required food places and we would eat the food we brought with us.

Also, the scheduler are easy to get a hold of if you have a problem. I was in the middle of a zoo shop on a Sunday and was able to reach a person for clarification on instructions when I ran over time because I had some things stolen. My report went outside time constraints but I was able to get someone to okay it before I wasted my time completing the day- this was amazing.
I considered doing one also at a boardwalk amusement park in NJ - not one price admission but tickets to get on each ride (different rides have different # of tix requirement). We go there every summer on vacation so I thought it would be great until I read the payment terms. No shop pay, but you get two 100-ticket books ahead of time then 2 after you do the shop. They also require a food purchase and to play a game (both out of pocket). So if I did the shop, but the time I got the second set of tickets I'd be back home in VA. And the report looks extensive. No thank you.

They actually use three different forms of payment. PayPal, PayQuicker, and either check or direct deposit. You get to choose which one you want. I chose PayQuicker and got my payment without issue.
I've done a zoo and an amusement park shop for them. I got the zoo shop in to get the bonus but my laptop broke with the amusement park and they were awesome to work with so I could get it in and get paid.

The biggest issue I have with the narrative reporting is they want the negatives explained above the general narrative and you're not supposed to repeat any information. Sometimes the information crosses over so that a no answer also references a yes answer. I managed to get it done without being repetitive.

The amusement park report took about four hours, I believe, and the zoo was a two hour report.

FYI, you only get two tickets upfront for the amusement park and have to buy a third; the rest come after.
I did a major amusement park in Gurnee, IL this summer and it was great. Like others said, you dont really do these for the money. Its a way to do something fun on someone else's dime, and I got to spend more on snacks and gifts than I would on a self-funded trip. Paid for my tickets + parking + meal + snacks + gift purchase + Games.

report took me FOREVER, but it was worth it.
