Damn Bestmark and their penalties!

Did a shop for them thursday and forgot to upload the receipt. Duh. Today I get an email saying there was no receipt and I was being penalized. They have deducted $4 off an $11 shop which was frankly, a pain in the a** shop anyway. They docked me for yesterday without notifying me and then again today. I'm so ticked off!

I'm sorry that happened to you. I don't shop Bestmark. In my market, they have only low-paying shops that don't seem worth it to me ...even before being docked. A $4 deduction from an $11 shop is a hard lesson but I bet you've learned. You'll probably never forget to upload a receipt for any company again.
I can deal with their crappy deductions over submitting the report late, but the receipt, really? They apparently spent some money changing the site recently. They could have included a system where the receipt is uploaded with report like, I don't know, most companies.

While trying to not be accused of being a shill (LOL) I have had almost nothing but positive dealings with Bestmark.
They have called me to do a couple of last minute shops with nice bonuses.

That being said some of their shops are very narrative heavy.
Im not really interested at the regular prices espcially if I have to travel.

I do normally spend almost an hour on each report.

So far I have been pretty lucky that I havnt had any come back so I am assuming they have been happy with my work.

I did have one small issue with the first oil change shop I did for them where it said you recieved up to $45 reinbursement, so went ahead and agreed to the delalerships special of $39.99 of oil change and tire rotation.
They only covered up to $33.50, which is the regular price for just the oil change.
In later versions of their paperwork they explained this in detail as I am gussing I wasnt the only one caught out by this dealer special.
The good news the deal also included a $10 prepaid Visa card so I wasn't actually out of pocket.

I also normally recieve checks pretty quickly after I complete the job.
I never could get into the groove with them, tried a couple times, well, lets say not all shops are created equal.

I actually have steered newbies to Bestmark because their website is clear and easy to use. Although their shops don't pay well, my experience with their editors has always been positive. Their narrative requirement sometimes amounts to repetition, but you need to figure in that time before you accept a shop.

No fee, no shop.
sad smiley Sorry that happened! Twice I was late, and $2.00 was deducted each time. Fortunately, they were for dinner shops, so the hit wasn't too painful.
Penalties really bite....but you did forget it.....however; $4 YIKES..... I didn't get along with the scheduler in my area and let's just say they decided I wasn't worth it.....mutual feelings....haven't looked back and don't miss them at all.
I had them completely delete a shop because of forgetting to upload the receipt. It was their reasoning that bothered me more than anything else. Shop was due on Thurs. morning. I realized what I had done Friday evening after everyone had gone home. I couldn't get to any link or place to upload. I went to the help desk which of course didn't respond until Monday morning. At that time, they said that since it was now 5 days since it was due, they couldn't accept it. I said I e-mailed on Friday which would have been day 2, so should only be docked that much. They weren't hearing it.

I know they have a weekend emergency, but I didn't think this was an emergency and would just be solved Monday morning. I never had an e-mail from then to ask about the receipt.
The best item I have ever used for all of my receipts is the NEAT scan. The portable one. About $100 worth every dime.
I don't bother with them anymore. The shops are long, reports longer, the pay is a joke

I got a couple penalties for the reciept. It hard to remember because you have to go some where enitely different to submit it. So when they call me for a critical shop "if I could do them a favor and help them out". I wont "help them out" unless I get extra money to cover the money I lost previously.

Yes, normally, your report won't go through unless a required receipt or photo is uploaded. So, why didn't they
have that in place? Tricky or something...
BestMark is not the only MSP without an upload link within their reports for collateral proof of visit. Certainly, proof of visit needs to become ingrained early in a shopping career, both in getting and in submitting.

I like BestMark just fine. It probably depends on what they have in your area and its value, as well as how the relationship has been received by the shopper.
I bought a visioneer last month. BEST MS item I have bought so far.
