anyone worked for Aloha Solutions?

I know they shop HI as they used to live on Maui, and are now in Charlottesville, NC. They supossedly look for shoppers in both states (and others, they say.) The application process is NOT online, its done via a word doc you email them for and they email back to you. Wondering if they pay on time, are worth applying to, pay fairly, have a lot of shops here, etc. The usual suspects! :-0

I think you might mean Charlotte, NC. I've exchanged information with them, but like you, want to hear shoppers' experiences.
There is a thread about them at Volition, [forum.volition.com] I was struck that the last contributions to the thread (the only mention of them in a thread title in their Mystery Shopping forum) were from Jan 2008. I was also struck that the majority of positive posts were from the members with very few, or even just one post--which to me is always a red flag.
Thanks, Flash.

I know one of them is a real shopper who also works for another company here, as I recognize her name from an meeting we both had to attend for that MSC (the sign in sheet thing...) Based on that, I don't have any reason to disbelieve her statement. But it is strange when people only post one time. However, it is a cultural part of Hawaii that you "no talk stink" and be ha'aha'a (humble), so getting people to talk in classes here is difficult, and I am not at all surprised that few people from here post.

I think I was more surprised that there had been no comment at all about this company for 10 months. Either it is very small with only an occasional client or in a different universe. I know long time shoppers on other forums from NC and have never heard mention of these guys.
I think they are small and probably very personalized. It seems from what some people wrote at V that they might have a job board, but the application process is dreary with the email and the word form, and I can't even tell if they currently do anything on Oahu, or just do Maui, or don't do much anymore at all anywhere. :-)

If you are correct, then a quick email to the guy asking whether they currently do anything in Oahu might get a reasonable response before you start doing an application. No point in wasting his time or yours.
