Ageism?

My mom was signing up with Maritz and the application form said her birthdate was invalid. She'd entered it exactly as it was modeled in the example given next to the field. Her month is April so I said to try the month as 4 and drop the zero. Nope, still ineligible. I then looked to see if there was a space somewhere before or after her entry but there wasn't.

She's tried four times to submit her application and the website kept refusing to accept it saying her "date of birth was invalid."

She's emailed Maritz to ask what their policy was regarding the age of their shoppers.

Stay tuned....

I REALLY hope it was a glitch in the system.

Silver certified, I shop in Cities in NM and TX that no one has ever heard of.
Of all the companies, I can't believe Maritz would think anybody is too old!

I'm older than your Mom (bet on it), and I work with a few exceptions where the client lowered the age limit too get a younger demographic. Applications just don't refuse shoppers, you just won't get jobs depending on age, computer is
set up to reject. I would definitely call after the 4th. and find out how to put your age in.

I'm 75 and I shop for Maritz.

Mary Davis Nowell. Based close to Fort Worth. Shopping Interstate 20 east and west, Interstate 35 north and south.
No Irene. Surely not!

Maritz does not have an issue with age.

Shopping Bama and parts of Georgia.
I'm still learning 24/7.
That is a huge leap to take. I sure would t email asking that but would tell of the difficulty signing up and ask for their assistance.

Actually, since it's Maritz, I would call. They seem to prefer phone calls vs. emails.
Mr. C......did I say Maritz has a problem with age when half of the schedulers are "up there". I don't work for them, but
not because of age. I believe the poster was dcm...and yes, I was being "tongue in cheek".

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your input. Mom has emailed Maritz but hasn't got a response back yet. (Happy July 4th everyone!) I'm sure it's some kind of computer glitch and it'll work out.

As I said earlier, will keep you posted.

Mom called (finally!) and found it was a glitch. She was transferred to another person who took down her information over the form to be sure it was entered into the system.

Yeah, Maritz! Gotta love yousmiling smiley

Don't you love the shop that is to a school and they want the caller to be under 55 - now I ask you how would the school ever know how old the caller is?
