small town NC shops

Does anyone know of companies that hire M'S pers in small town NC? I have found very few in my area. Then of course, the one I did do the most is no longer out there,(Harris Teeters,) Which shop companies can be recommended?

I live in a very small town and I have found that I do have to travel a bit to get a lot of jobs. I have so far signed with around 100 companies and I have only found around 5 jobs in my actual town. We have McDon's, Blockbuster, two banks, and a gas station that get shopped here and that's it. I am always constantly signing with new companies though hoping to find a few closer jobs.
lisams901, as the economy improves you are likely to see more of the nationwide companies with a location in your area shopped. We were coming back from dinner last night and in a 5 mile stretch of road passed 14 client/locations I used to shop. All have discontinued shops except one that has changed companies and now pays so little it is of no interest (and the requirments have increased as the pay went down). If you are in this for the long haul, I think many of these clients will return when they are less financially stressed. Right now priority one is to keep the doors open and hope to make a profit or at least not incur huge losses.
Franchises such as McDonalds, Blockbuster, etc., in my town were shopped, but not any longer. I guess that decision is not always made by Corporate.
I haven't seen a Blockbuster in quite some time. I understand that the Red Box in the Walmart lobby has cut into their business by 35% and of course Netflix had cut into their business substantially before. My guess is that they are 'not long for this world' unless they find some new twist or angle.

I'm really surprised the ones in my town are still shopped then. It is a really small, very low income town with very few businesses.
