Management Consultant Group

Hi, does anyone have any recent updates on this company. I heard some concerning talk on V-god, and I wanted to verify. Thanks.

This seems to be one of those very small companies with very few forum members in the know. Why don't you tell us here the substance of those comments on Volition so anyone who can help doesn't have to look up what you are talking about?

Happily shopping Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut
I only vaguely remember something about them. I believe they were the successor to another company that they may have bought out. I believe they then changed their name to MCG. They have a couple of shops on a barrier island near me that aren't worth it to us to do (fighting beach traffic to go drink on the beach is just not a high priority for us). I have never worked for them.
I did one fine dining shop for them. They wanted a lot of detail. You also have to insert the question numbers throughout your narrative as you address them. It kind of interrupts the flow and makes it take a lot longer.

There was an issue with payment in the voliton thread.

No there is not any such issue. Somebody is owed $8.50 and that post was the first week of August. That is not exactly a "sky is falling " post. What are you talking about?
Anything with payment problems makes me nervous. I would rather error on the site of caution and ask than to take the plunge.

So, one person is owed $8.50 and that means the company has payment issues?
I guess that I can't work for any MSC then. You can do a search of virtually every MSC and find at least one post from somebody who has an issue. In over 15,000 shops done now, I have only one company that hasn't paid me (G3 in 2005), and they declared bankruptcy.
Let me clarify, I feel it is prudent to ask others if an issue of payment comes up. You have a right to your opinion and I thank you for answering my question, but I do not feel I did anything wrong by asking. Me asking is a way for me to decide if I want to take the risk. Mystery shopping is a business. I have right to run my business as I see fit, and if that means asking questions, then so be it. I am using my money, so I do not feel that I should be questioned on how I gauge risk for my business or be slighted in the least.

The question is legitimate though since you were citing hearing concern elsewhere it probably would have been helpful to mention what the issue(s) was(were). Since I have never seen a shop in my area for them that is under $50 and mostly hefty reimbursement, I would wonder what the heck an $8.50 shop would be. Could it be an unreimbursed tip? A shopper feeling they were entitled to reimbursement for valet parking that was disallowed? A bar receipt that wasn't submitted with the meal receipt? It is very possible that there was an underpayment, but that usually can get sorted out if per guidelines the shopper was entitled to a reimbursement that was not paid.

The original question is legitimate.

Your comment that there are issues regarding payment is not. What you're doing is taking a good honest company and making them look bad because you saw some random post that somebody is owed less than $10, and you made the conclusion that there are payment issues.
MCG has always paid me according to terms, years now. They have a fine dining in my area, and I enjoy it, particularly when a bonus is added! The MSC pays a fee plus reimbursement which is appreciated. The report is no more, or less, difficult than comparables.
@ SocalMama seriously!!! I DID NOT jump to any conclusions. I asked a darn question that was valid. You are the one that is making yourself look bad, by jumping on someone that asked a darn question. I never said anything about them not paying. I asked if anyone had any payment problems. In this day and age, there is NOTHING wrong with that. If you took the time to read my original post, I tried to be vague but posters asked me to clarify. Make up your darn mind people. If you have an issue, just keep your off base opinions to yourself, because your reply is less than positive.

Thanks in advance for ceasing to send me any more private messages OP.
